Pros: Good location, central to town, and very close to Texas A&M. Several local eateries adjacent to property. Amazing lobby and breakfast space on 1st floor. Great interior Texas &M decor. Diverse breakfast. The waffle makers make Texas-shaped waffles. Very nice staff that try to help you out if they can. The towels are pretty nice. Pool is smallish but nice. On-site laundry room. Weird little snack/drink shop next to front desk, where you can buy drinks or chips and stuff. Elevators are fast. Cons: Hotel is still fine-tweaking some of its services and furnishings. If you want your room cleaned daily, you need to hang a sign outside the door. And the signs that they give for this are not cut to fit the doorknobs all the way, and so fall off whenever you turn the doorknob. So the signs need to be cut better. Also, there are no places to hang towels in the bathrooms, except for one rod that's *inside* the shower. So they need to install hooks and rods in the bathrooms. The complementary breakfast is inconsistent and sometimes incomplete. I had two days where the only beverages were coffee and... apple juice. I didn't see orange juice until day 3, and it was in the jug labeled "apple juice". Also, there wasn't a container for hot water, or any water at all. I brought water down from my room, or walked over to the front desk to steal water from the water cooler over there. I was very disappointed with the breakfast beverage selections. There should always be a hot water and cold water selection, and having reliable orange juice is also pretty standard. Parking is... suboptimal. The "main" parking lot is too small and shares space with an emergency hospital clinic. The clinic visitors often hog up most of the parking spaces and can be pretty belligerent to hotel guests. The parking lot needs better signage and needs to find a way to reserve sufficient spaces for hotel guests and not hospital visitors. One major gripe: The hotel rooms do NOT ventilate shower/bathroom air. At All. There is no bathroom venting; it's just a closed box. So after a couple of days, your hotel room starts feeling moist and moldy. I seriously considered shifting to another hotel after the 3rd day, the room was getting so ripe from un-ventilated shower air. I don't know how the hotel staff is going to fix this. But it's so bad that I'm not planning on using Aggieland Boutique again unless it's just for an overnight trip.…
