Brilliant B&B just outside Woolacombe
We stayed at the Franklin House B&B in August as we were going to a wedding at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel. Woolacombe is very hilly and Franklin House is situated on the main road out of Woolacombe village (a little country lane - not a proper main road) - its about a mile up a really steep hill with no pavements. if you're intending to walk everywhere then this isn't the place for you! As there were 4 of us staying at Franklin House we got taxis in and out of the village which only cost £4. The B&B itself is so lovely when you get inside - you'd never guess from outside as it looks ordinary from outside. The rooms are enormous and modern with huge comfy beds, full length mirrors (women will understand that this is important and often overlooked!), huge ensuite bathroom which I would love to have at home - the decor is stunning. The whole place is impeccably clean and the lady owner (Mrs Winslade) cooks a mean English breakfast. I would love to stay at this B&B again and was very impressed by everything about our stay. The only down side is that you can't walk to and from the village unless you're feeling particularly energetic. There is a spa shop within 50 meters so you're not totally stranded.…
