Nice rooms but need to work on plumbing...shower rose was blocked and hence the shower experience was bad.Very friendly staff though and the food was nice,however breakfast was monotonous and hence a problem for a long stayer.Overall experience was good..value for money.

I've stayed at Fatmols now 5 times, all en route as a one-night stop, barring one 2 night stay while trying to find spares in Lusaka.
The first time was in August of 2018, and then in semi-regular intervals. The first time I stayed there, the room was clean, the air-con worked wonderfully and their wad the standard soap, shampoo and coffee, tea and creamer available in the room. Nothing fancy, and a trite gaudy, but very acceptable.
One thing that has remained constant is that the staff are incredibly friendly, but that does not make up for the fact that every subsequent visit has got incrementally worse.
My last visit was diabolical. Cockroaches in the room. No coffee. No tea. Had to ask for a remote for the air con which them didn't work. No remote available for the TV, which wouldn't have helped anyway because the 4 available channels were all garbled and the TV was not fixed properly to the wall.
The restaurant is erratic in both service and quality, but I will say that its kind of par for the course for similar establishments in Lusaka.
Look, I'll probably use it again out of necessity. The bed is big, the mosquito net works, and if I need a place to sleep, at the process it offers, you won't find much better, but if you're in Zambia on holiday and you're spending bucks to have a good time, don't stay at Fatmols. If you're a rep, and you need a place to stay that's close to a mall and roads in and out of Lusaka, this is sufficient. Just don't expect much.

The place has so much potential, the staff are kind and welcoming but i did not like the fact that the tv's do not have remote controls in the rooms, which are quite spacious. There are no phones either, so when you need something, you have to go down to the reception. And we slept on the first floor, there are two floors. The rooms do not have air conditioning and there is an echo almost all over the building. They have lovely paintings and the decor is lovely, i enjoyed the shower, the water was hot continuously.
Its also located away from the noise of town or nightlife so that is a plus. I would recommend it for some peace and quiet.
