I am booked to stay here in June. Are there any good restaurants in the local area for breakfast and dinner
No need to leave the hotel for breakfast. The food is made to order and brought to the table. The Broad Arrow Tavern at the Harraseeket Inn is a good place to taste local food. The Azure Cafe is more upscale and also within walking distance and has an interesting menu. For casual dining Bear Naked Barbecue (a short drive from the hotel) is great.
Nothing further to add I'm afraid. All of the restaurants we used have already been mentioned but for my british tastes Broad Arrow Tavern at the Harraseeket Inn was so good we went twice and its also walkable as only 5 mins away. Perfect if you need some falling down water and not want to drive!!. The hotel is perfect for a good breakfast but didn't eat on an evening there. Have a good one.
Plenty of great restaraunts in the area. The Tavern was a favorite of ours. Alot is within walking distance as well so you can enjoy a few adult beverages and the hotel also had a great on site Dining area as well.
Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was great. Linda Beans was great for lunch and dinner. There is also a small homemade donuts place behind LL Bean that was wonderful for coffee and donuts.
We walked up to Azure Cafe, it is a short walk up the hill. If you go here make a reservation, something we did online. Food was great, service was very good. Very close to LL Bean and all the other stores. They do have a small bar and the dining room on the first floor is small but there is a second floor, which we did not see. They do have outdoor dining for those nice warm nights.
As Freeport is a toursit area, I am sure there are plenty of good restaurants in the area. However, when we stayed there we had a great dinner in the hotel's restaurant and also enjoyed a very nice breakfast at their breakfast buffet.
Sorry I couldn't not be more helpful.
The hotel has a good breakfast no need to travel for that. I can't remember the name of the restaurant down on the pier but they had great seafood choices. If you like cocktails, you can take your own with you. Just ask the front desk and they will give you directions. Lots to choose from when it comes to shopping but the town turns in a little early. Have a great time!
Hotel breakfast is fairly good for sure. The others gave a good list of places to eat, but I would add Gritty McDuffs. Good local pub with good food and a good menu.
We ate at Linda beans restaurant and topside tavern. Nice atmosphere and varied menu.
The Corsican, definitely--an easy walk.
We had breakfast at the hotel. It was very good buffet- both hot and cold items. They made custom omelettes and pancakes too. We enjoyed some very good dinners in Freeport- Antonia's Pizzeria( good family style Italian restaurant), Tuscan brick oven Bistro, Azure Cafe, Linda Bean's Maine Kitchen.
Yes, there's a restaurant at the hotel or a short walk to The Corsican Restaurant, Azure Café, Broad Arrow Tavern, The Jameson Tavern, Tuscan Bistro, Amanda Thai. Or a short drive south to Yarmouth to the Muddy Rudder, or a short drive north to Brunswick where you'll find a plethora of restaurants. Portland is also about 20 minutes south. For breakfast I recommend the Freeport Café Route 1 South in Freeport. Enjoy your stay in Freeport!
I agree with the other answer. Breakfast at the hotel is better than typical. You can eat the typical "continental" breakfast....waffles etc. but there is also a chef/cook right there that makes you anything you really could want within less than a 10 minute wait. Eat at the hotel. I have stayed there several times and never found any breakfast place comparable in the area. As far as dinner, I have eaten many times at the Azure Cafe. It says cafe, but don't be fooled. Its a full dinner place that has many different types of entrees. I have NEVER been disappointed when I have eaten at this restaurant. Eat outside, it's even better!
