We are bringing teenagers, is there anything else to do besides the pool? Activities of any kind?
Thank you for your inquiry. The swimming pool is the main activity at Cimarron Resort however we are within a stone's throw distance to several local activities such as the water park, air museum, skate park, shopping etc. We are also located right next door the Cimarron Golf course which offers two 18 hole courses, putting greens and a driving range. Our resort offers a small scale, quiet environment designed for kicking back and relaxing.
There is a golf course right next door, but nothing else on the premises. There is a fair amount of grassy area to throw a ball, etc. The resort is only about a 15 minute drive to Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs and very close to restaurants and other shopping in the area. We took a tour and went "off roading" into the Joshua Tree National Park. Also, taking the tram to the top of Mt. San Jacinto was great fun. Lots of hiking trails up there.
I stayed at the Cimarron Golf resort because I had golf lessons at the course next door so I did not explore the resort itself as to activities. There is a lot to do in the area as the traveler above noted. I also like to go up to the mountain towns of Idyllwild and Julian. Idyllwild has some great hiking trails and an especially great restaurant, Cafe Aroma. Julian is know for it's pies. They are so good that we are having a couple flown in for our Thanksgiving dinner! There are also plenty of things to do in the valley from hiking to golfing to shopping. The Living Desert is interesting to visit as is the the Date Farm.
