We have used Rolling Hills Tours for multiple trips to Tuscany over the past 10 years. Francesco is without a doubt, the best driver and guide for this region. He is knowledgable, personable and always on time. His excellent language skills and sense of humor make him a delightful companion while in Tuscany. He provides superb recommendations for places to visit. We have referred numerous friends to Rolling Hills, and all have been equally impressed. Book a tour with Francesco and you will not be disappointed!

Francesco picked us up in our hotel in Florence and took us on unforgettable tour of the Chianti region. We started with cheese/wine tasting at a beautiful winery. After that we had an amazingly delicious lunch at a small winery/organic farm with gorgeous hilltop views that you only see in postcards. We ended the day in San Gimignano after which Francesco took us back to our hotel.
We were with teenagers and he made everyone feel comfortable and all enjoyed the tour.
Francesco is a very friendly, very informative guide and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

As you know the old expression..."When in Rome, do as the Roman's do!, well when you're in the Florence/Tuscany area... call Francesco! If you want the most incredible day tour or even longer need to hire Francesco!
Francesco picked us up at our hotel in Florence and traveled to Sienna through the beautiful countryside stopping for a beautiful Tuscan lunch (Steak Florentine and of course plenty of wine) at the beautiful Tenuta Torciano Vineyard Estate.
After this one of a kind experience Francesco drove us to San Gimignano for the worlds's most famous Gelato, ending up this magical day in the hills of Lucca-Provincia at the Il Ciocco Renaissance Resort and Spa.
Whether you're sightseeing for a day , and or transferring and touring about the Florence/Tuscany area, Francesco a real warm, fine gentleman will make you feel like family from the minute he greets you all the way through, explaining the sights you see with a little history but not overpowering, he will laugh with you and be amiable to all your needs and wants.
We felt very relaxed, special and totally engrossed in the one of a kind landscape, culture and hospitality Tuscany has to offer.
Having the good fortune of travelling to many wonderful spots in the world, thank you Francesco for making this one of most memorable days.

Francesco picked my fiancé and me up from our hotel in Florence and then spent the day visiting a variety of small wineries in the Chianti Classico region. He was extremely kind, informative, and made great selections for our visits. All of the wine makers provided us great info on their wines along with tastings. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide or day with Francesco! We highly recommend.

We wanted to take a tour of Tuscany and Francesco gave us that and so much more. He picked us up from our apartment in Florence and for the next 9 hours showed us towns and countryside, all the while entertaining us with his charming personality and his encyclopedic knowledge of the area. We saw many different towns and villages and ended the day at a beautiful winery.
What a great day we had! We will always remember it. If you want to get a taste of Tuscany in a day, this is the trip to take.

My husband and I sought out Francesco to arrange a half day tour of the Tuscan countryside and a visit to a local winery. He picked us up at our hotel and we stopped for a brief visit in Pisa. We had also requested a winery tour. The winery tour and tasting was amazing. Just what we needed after spending a busy few days in crowded Florence. Then we asked to see a small village and Francesco took us to the quaint little village of Montecarlo where we sampled gelato and experienced breathtaking views of the countryside. It was a lovely day out with our knowledgeable guide. If you are seeking an adventure that is not as touristy as most, Francesco’s custom tours are a perfect alternative.

Francesco was wonderful!! He drove us all over the Tuscan countryside to 4 different boutique wineries where we tried a TON of wine. He was clearly friends with all of the winery owners, which gave an extra home-y feel to the whole experience. He even organized an amazing pasta lunch at one of the wineries. He was so open to answering all of our questions, even about Italian grammar ;), and was overall just a blast to talk to. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend- don’t choose anyone else!!

During our trip to Florence last year, my husband, good friend and I had the pleasure of taking a half-day tour with Francesco in the Chianti region (we visited in March 2017, though trip advisor dates only go back to July). It was the highlight of our vacation! Francesco took us to two family-owned wineries, both with delicious wine, lovely people and incredible views. At each winery, we had a tour of the vineyard and wine cellars, followed by a tasting of a selection of wines as well as Italian antipasto. We also visited a nearby town on the way back to our hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire outing, right down to the car rides with Francesco. He is filled with knowledge about Italy, and he is an all-around positive, worldly individual. Just from our one afternoon with him, it was evident that Francesco is a delightful person who truly loves sharing his perspective of Italy with his visitors. We enjoyed our tour so much that when our family visited this year, we told them the tour was a must! They booked a lunch tour with Francesco at a Brunello winery and had an equally wonderful time. Our tour with Francesco was a spectacular experience that we will always remember fondly.

We found the BEST GUIDE in all of Italy. From the time he picked us up at the airport, to the very last tour, it was an adventure that we will cherish for a lifetime!
We spent four days with Francesco while in Italy. We went to Montepulciano, Montalcino and Chianti.
We had only been with Francesco for less than an hour, we felt as if we were already friends. He has a wonderful sense of humor, speaks excellent English and exceedingly knowledgeable of everything Italian. The history, culture, people and all of Tuscany, he knows everything about Italy. He picked us up at the airport and took us directly to one of the small wineries in Chianti. We had lunch and a tour of the farm. The lunch was all homemade and maybe one of the best meals we had while traveling. (maybe we were just hungry and excited after landing)!
For each tour outing Francesco was not only on time, he was always early. Bringing with him some cold water for us to drink during our day and picking us up in a very clean, new, spacious Mercedes Van.
We wanted to see small family owned Tuscan Wineries. He was able to schedule and find these smaller boutique wineries that all had tremendous passion for their products. Without Francesco we could not have found these special gems that he took us to. We met with the families of the wineries and had meals with them. This was such a very special experience that you will not find on a regular tour. Each family knew him and had relationships with him and we felt as if we were given special treatment because we were with him. His heart and passion for Tuscany and wine makes him an exceptional guide. Our trip was so memorable, we will never forget this experience made so very special with Francesco as our guide!!! If you want to experience Italy in a very comfortable setting without any worries you MUST choose Francesco and your guide!!

We have done quite a few organized day trips in Italy over the last 12 years, and Francesco is by far the best driver/tour guide/walking Italy encyclopedia in Italy! He is so knowledgeable, so much fun; he makes it feel like you're out for a day of fun with a friend. He spent two days hauling around seven crazy Texans (who taught him to play I Spy on the long trip from Parma back to Florence; note to self: don't play I Spy with an Italian!) and those days were full of fun, laughter, and so many interesting sights and a seemingly endless knowledge about everything Italian. His love of Italy shines through and he is a wonderful ambassador for his country. You cannot go wrong by booking his services. (Clarification: TA makes me choose a date for our last travel but it doesn't go back far enough. Our first experience with him was in the summer of 2016; our next experience will be this summer--we are so looking forward to seeing him again.)
