We parked before the village on the right side of the road and walked about 500 m. You get a nice view from the road onto the red huts.
At the height of the ticket office there are toilets on the left. As we did not want to pay an entrance fee in order to be allowed to sit down in a restaurant or buy something in the bakery we walked up to the "official" parking space. Very crowded, poorly organised (so do take the chance before you reach the village) but with a nice view to see the village.

So not worth the detour. The same style of cottages can be seen all over Lofoten. For free.

Absolute waste of time. This area is nothing more than a hotel that has purchased the town and is now charging people the "privilege" to walk around and see essentially nothing for $10 per person. You are given a map of the buildings, which turns out, are mostly hotel cabins that you can't explore. There is a bakery, an evening restaurant and a pizza place. We were hoping for something historic - the cod liver exhibit. Just a room with no information at all to describe its history or importance to the area. Scenery around town is nothing you can't find in any Lofoten town that doesn't charge an entrance fee. Felt like we were at Disney with no fun factor.

I travelled from Slolvaer to Nusford during a very cold winter day in March. The landscape was simply mesemerizing. The entire drive had snow capped mountains being reflected in crystal clear waters. It was so intriguing - we had beaches on the way and then there were compeltely frozen fjords within a few kilometres. It was a very serene experience being immersed in the wonders of the untouched nature.

After the beautiful journey I reached Nusford. The quaint little village of Nusford seemed straight out of story books. It had small colourful houses with marcellous view of the ocean. We visited the fish oil factory and then just enjoyed the nature at its best (even in the biting cold with -7 degree temperature)

One thing to note is that restaurant in winters opened at 3 pm. There was a small cafe where we ate. If you are a vegetarian, i will recommend that you carry some food with you.

On the way back, got to see the majestic Arctic Horses. A truly magical day.

A must visit for anyone travelling to Norway in winters. Nusford trip made me realize that Norway is so much more than Northern Lights.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying here in November. A fresh snowfall accentuated the beauty of this fishing village/turned resort. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I was traveling with friends so we shared a two bedroom rorbu. It was perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable and cozy. It was impeccably clean, and the bathrooms were modern with heated floors. We felt entirely spoiled. The resort was decorated for Christmas and I could see a glowing Christmas tree outside my window with the Northern Lights dancing above. The restaurants are delicious. There are a few different options all offering diverse menus.

High winds cancelled our fishing trip one day, but the resort stayed in communication with us as the weather shifted, and rebooked us for a RIB boat excursion that blasted us through fjords and past salmon farms. It was incredibly exhilarating. We also did a Northern Lights tour with the resort that took us to a beach with mountains rising behind and to the west of us. I now have a photo of a lifetime of me looking out over the beach with mountains, ocean, stars and those magical auroras.

But I must give a huge thanks to Renate for her historical tour of the property. I saw it on our agenda and didn’t expect much. It was fascinating. She was born right there and is incredibly versed on the history of the incredible property, the Lofoten Islands, and the fishing industry in that part of the world. Many brave souls attempted to carve out a living in the waters outside of Nusfjord, and Renate’s respectful tour shared their stories of struggle, success and misfortune. Wrap your tour with a decadent hot coco with Renate for even more Lofoten tidbits.

Enjoy your magical stay!

Apart from the fact that you have to pay 10€ to access the part of the village in which there are the restaurants and the shops, except for these "attractions" and some red houses there is nothing more worth to see. The view point isn''t worth ten euros in my opinion.

We were told Nusfjord was a touristy but nice town to visit, and were recommended a bakery, only to find it a complete and utter tourist trap.

There is nothing in this town you can’t see in any of the other beautiful towns in Lofoten, who do not charge an exploitative fee of 100kr per person.

It was an extremely rainy day in April (off peak) and we were hailed town by the ticket attendant as we ran to avoid the rain, not knowing that there was a fee.

To make things worse, the bakery was closed, and the rest of the town smelled and felt like a desperate tourist trap - the Soverign Hill of Lofoten, if you will, but less interesting. How can you justify charging people entry when the places you want to see are closed ?

I would not go unless you have a serious interest in the town’s specific history - otherwise, head to Reine, Sørvågen or Henningsvær which are lively, local towns that do not rip off tourists.

Visited in pouring rain. Thought there would be more inside things to see but it’s mostly outside. Not easy to find our way around. Not clear what was an historic building to go into and what was a private house!

Totally not worth the 100 kr entry fee...The whole experience felt like a tourist trap, and I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Nusfjord is definitely not worth the time or money.
