An excellent panoramic view from the top of the tower of this church. A narrow spiral staircase but well worth the effort.

Located in the lovely little village of Ranworth the church is well looked after and well worth a visit to climb the 89 steps, two ladders and opening one hatch to get a panoramic vista over the village, countryside and of course the Broads below of Ranworth and Maltster. The steps are small in places and there are no passing places as you climb up or down so worth communicating with any others before you ascend or descend!! The church itself is beautiful.

Fabulous little church known as 'The Cathedral of the Broads' and well worth a visit for the mediaeval font, lectern and painted screen.
Lovely situation just outside a pleasant village and broad.

A beautiful old church with an incredible painted screen, but - most amazing of all - you can climb the tower to the top (89 steps of varying sizes, two ladders, and a trap door). Our children absolutely loved that adventure; we had the whole place to ourselves, and the views from the roof were fantastic. Unexpected highlight of our holiday!

Interesting wooden rood screen with paintings of the 12 apostles. A challenging spiral staircase with many narrow stone steps and a metal ladder to access the top of the tower through a trap door but pray you don't meet anyone as there is nowhere to pass!! However the views of the surrounding countryside and Ranworth broad are worth it.

This church seems frozen in time with 16th century foundations and some even older features inside like the 500 year-old book of daily offices on display, and photos of the queen's visit in 1972. The tower is currently closed thanks to covid-19 and a lack of volunteers, but some local produce can be bought like home-grown cucumbers and broad beans, and a donation can be made for its upkeep. It remains a place of Anglican worship making feel especially vital. Lovely path from the quay. Worth a visit for a quiet moment of prayer or contemplation.

This is a beautiful church and I'm only sorry we went when the building was closed. The churchyard is lovely. Wonderfully well maintained and a peaceful place to go. I'll visit again!

Amazing place! Very interesting history and building. 89 uneven steps and 2 ladders take you up the tower to see some fantastic views. The very rare rood screen is a must to see. Also a rare service book The Antiphoner written by the monks 500 years ago is fascinating and so beautiful. Look out also for the carved pews.
Toilets and a little cafe are just round the side with a short walk to Ranworth Broad and further toilets and refreshments. You can park right outside the church and parking is free.

If you have the energy to climb the tower you will be treated to hear view of the broads anywhere. See ranworth broads below you then over towards ludham ,potter heigham, acle, at benets and beyond. Try going on a clear day and don't forget a donation to church on way out.

Certainly worth a visit to take in the reed screen, the beautiful book of prayers and of course the view from the tower. Allow some time to walk around the cemetery as well.
