What an amazing experience!! Communication with Dessy and Arif was always prompt and very accommodating. We had a couple of dietary requirements and Dessy worked with her team to provide a fabulous menu of food each mealtimes. Our flight in was late to arrive, but we were welcomed warmly at the airport by Dessy. Once on board, Arif shared so much knowledge around the flora and fauna we would see. He was great at spotting birds and other animals along the river banks, bushwalks and feeding stations. Arif is a biologist and always welcomed questions and discussions. We had two children on board (16 & 9) and they were engaged in the whole experience, especially the night walk with the ranger. We were lucky to see 6 out of the 9 primates, some beautiful kingfishers, a salt water crocodile and a number of wild orangutans. This was such a bucket list experience that our 16 year old said she would do it every year! Well done on providing an outstanding eco-tourism opportunity for our family.

We did the 3d2n orangutan boat trip.
Before, during, and after our trip we received truly five star service.
Ms. Desi always responded promptly and thoroughly to all communication. She went above and beyond to make sure our trip was everything we wanted it to be. From our initial email to the day we left she was there to help us and made us feel really cared for.
The crew was amazing. I was sad to say goodbye and if I was to do this trip again I would want the exact same team. They all worked together to give us an unforgettable experience.
Chef Olivia was a true chef in every sense of the word. Her food was so good I’d do this trip again just to eat. She made sure that we liked what she was preparing and it was clearly important to her that we enjoyed our meals. I can’t pick a favorite dish because they were all so good.
Captain JD knew the river and was great about getting us into the best positions for viewing wildlife we saw along the way and for getting on and off at various stops. We always felt safe and secure.
Deckhand Ahib was so attentive to details and making sure we were comfortable. We always had mosquito coils when the mosquitoes came out, cool towels when we returned from a hot walk, tarps when the rain came down, he was so fast that we never once had to ask for a single thing.
Our guide Diaz is from the area and was very knowledgeable. He answered every question we could come up with. He asked us right away what we were most interested in seeing other than the orangutans so he could try to spot anything we were particularly interested in. He is also really good at photography and knew all the best spots for great pictures.
The entire crew was friendly and cheerful and there was a really great vibe. Everyone seemed as excited by the wildlife we found as we were. They seemed to genuinely enjoy being out on the river and out in nature. Their enthusiasm really added to ours and it created a really wonderful environment for appreciating the beauty of Tanjung Puting.
The boat was clean and in great condition. We had everything we needed and were as comfortable as could be.
This was one of the best trips we’ve ever been on and I highly recommend Orangutan Applause.

Being in such close proximity with these animals in the wild is such a powerful experience and coupled with the atmosphere of a jungle boat journey is magic !
Our 3 day /2 night boat trip with Orangutan Applause was superbly organized and went totally smoothly. Desi is a very organized manager and had everything prepared with the boat and later assisted us with onward bus tickets .
The food on the boat was great and all the people on board did everything they could to make our tour enjoyable.
Unreservedly recommend this experience and Orangutan Applause for making it possible .

We had the best time of out month long vacation on this 4 D3N tour. Desi was a very attentive arranger-of-things. Our guide was from the actual jungle and knew a phenomenal amount. He was always pointing things out to us and teaching us things. Our cook made delicious meals and there was plenty of food. And our captain and first mate did a fine job as well. Everyone was just the right amount of attentive, and discreet. I just loved floating down the river and sleeping on the bed on the deck. And of course who doesn’t love all those orangutans and proboscis monkeys and other animals. We would highly recommend these folks.
