Yes everything is fake, but a very well made fake. I have seen many of the originals in their respective museums, so it is a joy to see them in one place. Parking is not on site, they provide bus to the museum. Price is steep, little discount (no time stamp) buying on line. No guards to watch our every move, so liberating! Restaurant and cafe are well priced (like most of the restaurants in Japan).

It's wonderful that everything is carefully reproduced on a ceramic plate and on the actual sizeら.
The works that I have seen in art museums during my travels all over the world are displayed all at once here, so it was great to be able to touch the works while reminiscing about my travels.

The entrance fee is a bit expensive and the trip from Osaka to Naruto is a bit far, but it's worth the trip. The sea is also close, and there are very nice hotels nearby. For those who are tired of Japan's famous sightseeing spots, I highly recommend taking it easy at an art museum.

Wonderful place that captures all the famous of the world paintings like Mona Lisa, Last Supper and more. The Otsuka foundation commissioned artists to make copies of the world famous paintings and displace them for the benefit of the Tokushima people. 5 level full of paintings.

An amazing technique is used to photograph works of art and reproduce them on to large ceramic tiles. These are then hand finished and the results are astonishing.

Several large spaces such as the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced and is very impressive. Over 1000 works on display over 5 levels covering early Roman to contemporary works.

I’d you then choose to visit the Escalator Hill lookout which is 10 minutes in a taxi be sure you have booked a way to return as it is a “destination” and very few taxies go there. Most tourists arrive in busses.

Otsuka Pharmaceutical's pet project to make the world's art pieces accessible to the world.

Built inside a mountain, on the tip of Shizuoka is this museum of ceramic replicates of the world's greatest art pieces.

Probably one of the only places one can see modern greats like Andy Warhol, Salvatore Dali, and Picasso all on one floor. To see the most famous pieces of Michael Angelo, Van Goh, Gaugin, Renior, Rafael, Rodrigues, Vermeer, Rubins all in one building is pretty amazing. They have a recreation, in its exact dimensions, the Sistine Chapel. Rooms devoted to the annunciation, self-portraits, and recreation of Monet's Nymphéas outside.

While these are only exact replicas, it is a great way to see and appreciate these masterpieces in the same building. You can do comparisons without having to travel around the globe. It really builds appreciation for art and culture.

Currently, there is a COVID19 shortened free guided tour of about 40 minutes. Regularly it is 2 hours. In Japanese only.

There is an audio guide for a fee. Available in many languages.

Parking is very far away but there are shuttle busses that come every few minutes to shuttle you back and forth.

I was not expecting much here. But I had some time on my hand so decided to go and see this wonderful museum and boy was I in for a surprise. The level of hard-work put in replicating these masterpieces was astonishing. The only regret that I had was that I didn't put in enough time so that I could see all of the works. Definitely would plan to go once more there. Worth the trip if you are there in the vicinity.

Its parking is a bit far away, but shuttle buses are provided between the parking and the museum. This is where Kenshi Yonezu's performance was broadcast from for the 69th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. This is a very unique museum, which "houses over one thousand reproductions of treasured Western artworks in actual size, from ancient frescoes to modern paintings in the collections of more than 190 galleries in 26 countries around the world." The paintings are recreated painstakingly on ceramic art boards, which can last over 2,000 years. It is great to see faithful replicas of famous paintings in one place and you can even touch them! Some reproduce the original conditions and/or original configurations like the Altarpiece by El Greco.

Couldn’t really understand why this was 3300 JPY for the entrance, even though I appreciate the fact there is a lot of work that has gone in to recreating all of the art on display in this museum. Having traipsed through most of the building I was exhausted and bored and had to go back to the car for a nap. Wouldn’t recommend it at all

This museum has a lot of famous pictures with ceramic replicas.
The building and the site has enough space to walk around and appreciate objects at my own pace.
I went there on a weekday when it opened. There were roughly 300 visitors, but entering was smooth and thanks to it having spacious passages I didn't feel cramped.
When I visited there, a special event was being held which provides wardrobes like from famous pictures, such as "Monnalisa" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring", and visitors can take photos with these objects in the same costume ( visitors can take a photo with almost all works ). These wardrobes were free of charge.
The most impressive thing to me is that since the objects are replicas, I could see them in a luxury way. I can see 7 works of Van Gogh's Sunflowers in the same room and can compare objects "Salome", "Danae" and "Klimt" in the theme of 'Femme fatale' in the same line.
It is far from the center of the city so taking a bus or using a car is better.

You can enjoy with family, couple, friends or solo here. There are three restaurants. and most of the pictures are made on the ceramic. You may surprise with the techniques.
I love the garden in first floor.
