As we continued our geocaching vacation, we headed to Ashcroft, British Columbia. Once there, we discovered that our goal was located in Heritage Park. As we strolled through this unique area, we enjoyed it's various features. After seeing a cabin that sported a sod roof, a functioning waterwheel caught our interest. As it moved, we imagined how it made life a little easier for settlers. We followed a trail dotted with benches and several picnic areas for park visitors. An old-fashioned red caboose sat on real railway tracks. Several mosaic murals depicted several different scenes including Ashroft's Japanese sister city, Bifuka. There was also a transportation mural. Copper mining artifacts are located in the Park as well as a lovely gazebo containing shade trees, flowers and shrubs.

We were looking for a place to eat our picnic lunch when we came across this park. As well as using a picnic table in the shade, we learned a fair bit about the history of the area from the historic markers in the park. We also enjoyed the mosaic artwork on display. The log cabin and rail caboose were an added bonus. Washrooms were found at the tourist info centre at the north end of the park. They were open, clean, and available for use even though the tourist info centre was closed when we were there.
