Lovely trip but no English

We had a lovely trip with Grand Bleu III. The captain is a good navigator and takes you close to the sights at Scandola Nature Reserve. The trip is tightly planned, but not more than makes time for swimming in pristine blue water. What was disappointing though was that contrary to what is implied in the excellent web page, all members of the team do not speak English. At least all members do not speak English good enough to guide in both French and English. Though there were several English speakers on board, the English information was given in the form of a pamphlet. When information had to be given in English the captain preferred to let a fellow passenger translate. If we had known this in advance we would have chosen another tour operator.

Dear Olekristina, I am glad you enjoyed the trip aboard our RIB and Yoann's skills as a pilot. However, I am sorry you felt the translation was not enough good. Indeed, our passengers are given at boarding a translation in the form of a pamphlet with text and photographs. And during the trip, they can ask the pilot and be answered in English. Generally, we have excellent feedback on Yoann. I don't understand why you did feel different this day. I am going to ask Yoann if something can explain your medium experience. Thank you for sharing your experience. It make us improve our work.

What a fantastic experience aboard the Grandblue… Dominique and his son made sour afternoon an unforgettable one. The trip was magical with breathtaking views of the Callanques , water caves and the Piana coast.
A little stop at the port of girolatta for a quick souvenir and a swim ( and a quick drink) made the return back to Cargese a relax one… our kids were amused by the waves and landscape. As it was the afternoon we catch à wonderful sundown which once again was magical..
I really recommend this experience as a family or individual for an day out in beautiful Corsica . Merci Dominique

Lovely trip, loses a point for the shortcut

This is a gorgeous trip, although the captain didn't go past the rocks at Piana on the way back like he was supposed to. Also: you can't open the windows of the covered part, so everyone was packed in the front and the back to get some fresh air.

Thank you Martje, for leaving your opinion on our company. We are glad you liked the trip. We just are sorry you think the captain didn't do the right thing on the way back. In fact he did. The Calanche of Piana is a part of the Capo Rosso, which is a place made of red granitic rock. First, the name "calanque of piana" was used only for a little part of a 450-meter-high-road, situated near of the village of Piana and famous because he is accessible for everyone by the road. Then, it is used to speak of the Capo Rosso more generally. So you have seen all the sites you were supposed to: Caves of the Seals, Arch of Capo Rosso, Devil's eye, and all beautiful sites planned on the tour. For the boat, there are shaded places inside the boat (some people ask for this shadow) and places outside for people who want to get fresh air and be in full sun. So everyone can get what he wants. A tour not to be missed!

We left from Cargese harbour at 8:30 am and returned at 3:15 pm and what a great day! The boat is quite large and comfortable, but small enough for the extraordinarily skilful captain to manoeuvre the vessel into the amazing grottoes and between narrow rock passages along the coast. This is inot just any ordinary boat tour as you visit areas of coastline that are highly protected and inaccessible other than by boat. For literally hours you will be treated to stunning geological features and crystal clear water. For us seeing flying fish was a real treat. Make sure your camera is fully charged it will never be out of your hand. We cannot recommend this trip highly enough, it is worth every cent.

Fabulous Day!

We took the morning boat tour today!! It was one of the best things we have ever done!! Boat was comfortable, crew friendly and helpful! We were the only English people on board - we were given a written guide book and also had things specially pointed out to us! We were amazed by the beauty of the area and the crystal clarity of the water. We even saw some flying fish!! Yes - it was expensive - at 50 Euros each - but worth every cent! Thank you for an amazing day!!

A real treat. Comfortable journey across. Guide in English as well and we thoroughly enjoyed. €50 per person so not cheap but for 5 hours plus it was great. What a place Scandola is. N

Wonderful boat trip

We had an amazing day on Le Grand Bleu, the boat trip is great, the team on board is excellent and very nice. The boat is spacious, has toilets on board! The trip itself takes you to areas you could never imagine possible! Thanks for taking good care of us, excellent ratio price for quality! Also take some time to visit Cargèse, it is wonderful

Pretty day trip, bit long

We decided last minute to have a boat experience. Grand Bleu 3 had 2 places left for the next day, so we went! Started out pretty cool, we liked it up to the part were you get out of the boat for Girolata. Lovely small town. The way 'back' (goes further a bit) was too long we found. It gets very cold and the sides start to look somewhat similar... it didn't help that the captain only knew French well and no English. We only got a small book with descriptions. Didn't came close to all he spoke in French. Still overall a nice day, would recommend it.

Highly recommend this trip. Scandola Preserve is stunning, and the captain of our boat, the Le Grand Bleu II was an expert at navigating into the tiny passages and grottos.

The rock formations are colorful and twisted, being igneous in nature. Combined with the aqua-blue, crystal-clear water, it was a unique eye-popping experience in an unspoiled, undeveloped area.

We saw a few ospreys and one of their huge nests, some gulls and a cormorant. But the biggest thrill was the large school of dolphins showing off for us. They followed the boat for some time. They are FAST! And were jumping and performing acrobats. One jumped out of the water and did a perfect 360 flip! I have seen dolphins quite a few times in various places around the world, and this was the most amazing experience I've had seeing dolphins in the wild.

The tour narration is only in French, which I don't speak. However, I was given an adequate written translation of the sights we saw. Luckily, François, who works for Croisieres Grandbleu, speaks English and was able to answer my most of questions. Most everyone on the tour did speak French, so I do understand that they can't cater to the few English-speakers that come aboard. I do think I missed a lot of information, however.

I would recommend that non-French speakers read up on the geology and natural history of Scandola, and the history of the coast from Cargese to Scandola.

But all in all, it was really a wonderful trip, with a very competent captain and first mate.
