Great spot

What a lovely spot to spend some time. The trail around the reservoir is beautiful, but when we visited, part of it was closed because of a landslip unfortunately. A cracking part of the world though.

views to die for coupled with the autumn colours made this a wonderful visit the whole elan valley project well worth a visit

One of the wonderful Elan Valley dams

The whole of the Elan Valley is wonderful, and the different man-made reservoirs are wonders of Victorian engineering, and look stunning.

Well worth visiting and learning about how and why these reservoirs were built to supply Birmingham with fresh water.

What an amazing place to visit. Garreg Ddu Dam in the lower Elan Valley serves a dual role. It is a low, completely submerged dam which plays a important role in maintaining a constant supply of water to Birmingham. There are a number of dams to see some fantastic views. Amazing scenery, grand structure. Beautiful place to walk either with or even without dogs.
