Beautiful sanctuary in an epic landscape.

Beautiful church in the middle of the most epic landscape. There is disabled parking here but there is still a little slope up to the church.

This is a pretty little church tucked away. There is information about it in the church porch. Unfortunately we were unable to in the church as it was locked

An interesting little church

This church is really in the middle of nowhere. Built in the Victorian era, it replaced the older church that was flooded when the reservoirs were completed.

With no electricity or gas, the church can only be used during the warmer summer months.

Some of the corbels depict some of the Birmingham worthies involved with the building of the dams.

A fascinating little place. There is a car park nearby - you just need or cross over the top of the dam from the main road to get to it.

Spotted along the Elan valley rd. Gorgeous little church, parking very close by, Well worth a visit.

enjoyed walking around the outside of this church

quiet and peaceful felt no rush to leave and setting was ideal, we were not asked to leave and the bird life was lovely to hear

SURPRISING FIND

Although we have toured the dams many times we have somehow missed this lovely little church before now, really remote with no electric lighting or any form of heating fitted, how very trusting to leave the door open, lets hope everyone respects this building.

Built to replace the flooded valley

It looks and feels much older than it really is. The cusrch sites above the bridge between Caban Coch and Garreg Ddu. Open to take a look inside, to sit and gather your thoughts.

A lovely small church

Situated just over the Garreg Ddu dam 50 yards up a small entrance walkway is this very pretty parish church. What is excellent is just the willingness to leave open a place for peaceful contemplation in a historic church over 200 years old. And insde it is similarly the pretty church you hoped for when viewing the exterior. Pop a few pounds in the donation box just to appreciate the fact that someone is prepared to share such history with you.
