We paid in advance ( obviously) , but when I dive into the sea and very close to the shore, I panicked, then I realsed that diving into the museum at 15 meters is unrealistic for me. I refused to continue the experience. They did not return the money and also did not take us back to the hotel where they took us. What a waste of money.

You're not a scuba diver? Then, get started, or you'll miss this unique wonderful underwater museum. It's one of a kind and truly magical. This one was on my bucket list and I am so glad we visited this very special place.

One of the best thing I have ever done! It was amazing. The whole experience is just incredible. I am very satisfied of the small training as well. The staff are very helpful and kind. The museum is beautiful and interesting. Highly recommend it!

Dived the Museum with Rubicon Dive centre , fantastic statues of amazing people across the island.Plenty of marine life and great photo opportunity during the visit.

Had only seen this in magazines, did not realise it was so close to the hotel so I had to go.
Arranged a days diving with diavoon diving.
What can I say.
Breath taking!
After the normal wrecks, reefs and wildlife this was a change from the normal in an activity that is anything but normal
Well thought out art installation, thought provoking and entertaining.
Would love to see if when the water is a bit warmer.
I will be back.

Beautifully presented and when you have the story behind the museo it becomes quite thought provoking.
Hopefully over the years it will become a well colonised reef in its own right.

Although this is an entirely artificial dive site, comprising man made sculptures sunk in a sandy bay, it is still spectacular. A good range of marine life has made museo atlantico their home, bringing additional interest beyond the rather spooky statues. In my view, this has some genuine artistic merit beyond the novelty factor. Having not dived too much in the last 7 years, i was also pleased to find that it was a nice easy dive, expertly guided by Jürgen from Rubicon diving centre

What an experience. So professionally made, well set out and pretty eerie at times.
Me & my daughter spent 50 minutes underwater which went over in what seemed like seconds. We will return when we next visit Lanzarote. Thanks to Rubicon Diving for a professonal and most pleasurable experience. Well recommended.

We dived here with Ariel from Manta diving at Puerto del Carmen.
The dive was awesome and made all the more interesting by Ariel who firstly explained what the various sculptures meant and during the dive, pointed some key things out.
The sculptures are at 14 metres and it took me 45 minutes to see them all. With a five minute decompression stop, this was a 50 minute dive but the water was around 19 degrees so it was perfectly acceptable in a wetsuit.
The viz wasn't quite as good as I have seen on other people's photos but possibly this was better as it allowed a focus on each piece rather than be overwhelmed with the enormity of it all.
Not that low viz is a criticism, viz is a luck of the draw thing dictated by the weather and anyway, we could still see 10m so I was more than happy.
I would totally recommend this dive.

Hello, we will be starting in Puerto Del Carmen, early February. My husband who have previously done lots of diving would love me to do something like this with him ........ I love swimming but not sure about swimming under water. I have only snorkelled once before.
Before I surprise him with the offer of this trip, is it something for a beginner?
Anyone suggest near where we are staying?
And also should I book now, or wait till we get to Lanzarote?

Thanks for your interest in the Atlantic Museum. All the visits need to be done with an Official Diving Centre and with all of them you can do an intensive course the very same day you visit the museum, so no previous diving experience is not a problem.

Thanks for your interest in the Atlantic Museum. All visits to the Museum need to be done with an Official Diving centre. You can find a list of all the certified diving centres of the island on the CACT webpage. They will give you detailed information about the visit and if you do not have previous diving experience, most centres offer the possibility to do an express course the very same day of the visit.

I am going to Lanzarote in March this year and I would love to visit the underwater museum. I have never dived before and I would like to ask you if I am allowed ( if there is a possibility ) to visit the museum without a diving certificate/ license?

Thanks for your interest in the "Museo Atlántico". The visits to the Museum are done with a certified diving centre. If you do not have any previous diving experience, in these centres they do an express course (normally it can be done the very same day you are going to visit the Museum) that will allow you to visit the Museum. In our website you can find a list of all the different diving centres that do the visit to the Museum and they can give you more detailed information.

The price of access to visit the Museum is 4 Euros, now if you are thinking of visiting other Centers on the island your best option would be to buy the Bonus of several visits at the ticket office of the first center you visit.

Estimado Florentino,
El buceo en el Museo Atlántico implica descender a una profundidad de unos entre 12 y 15 metros de profundidad por lo que es necesario si no tiene certificado PADI o similar ponerse en contacto con un centro de buceo, ellos que son profesionales le indicarán qué debe hacer, normalmente le hacen un bautismo y ejercicios bajo el agua hasta que se sienta seguro para hacer la inmersión.
En la página de los centros encontrará el listado de los centros de buceo homologados de la isla.
