Not much there really, but interesting if you like geology. Worth taking a look if you are in the area.

I had a walk, along with my wife, to have a look: surrounded by estates (no entry, for residents only) there are just a few volcanic rocks, covered with spray painting writings, resembling, as they use to say, "monsters"...Don't waste your time over there!

We learned about this after having arrived at the island so it wasn't on our original list of things to sea. But having seen it mentioned we thought we'd check it out as it looked quite interesting with the rock formations.
Finding the Valle dei Mostri was a bit difficult as it wasn't particularly well sign-posted after the main town signs stopped, but we found it after following our noses really.
It was quite an interesting spot to see really though the formations weren't as big as we were expecting.
Suggest going when the sun is not at its highest otherwise you will melt if you're walking to them! 6pm is a good time or early morning.

Dirty territory ...problematic to pass by the neglect that c is
Shrubs thorns and lots of paper... no signage or signs that can help a visitor access the statues visible only among the thorns!
I think you can do better to enhance this beautiful island ..

Bad experience. Many indications to reach this sort of open space and then... totally absent maintenance, brush that completely close the paths, all left to itself. Needless to say, this is not worth it. You would only lose two hours of time. I went with baby but after a few minutes of exploring we decided to leave. What a shame.

A small natural area located to the northeast in the peninsula that characterizes the north coast of Vulcano and is called Vulcanello: in fact this so-called Valley of Monsters is located between the sea and the northern slopes of the small volcanic cone that gave rise to Vulcanello (once an island in its own right and now a peninsula attached to Vulcano by an isthmus formed with one of the last eruptions). This area is characterized by very corrugated and twisted lava boulders, ranging from light gray to dark gray or brown/pink/red, which can sometimes take particular forms that, except for two/three cases, only with a lot of imagination can recall animals or monsters of our imagination. In any case, the environment is very natural and wild, maybe even too much, in the sense that a thinning of the vegetation that is closing the paths and stifling the lava manifestations would perhaps be more than appropriate. As I said, the environment is wild because there is no trace of man, but only rocks among the thick vegetation crossed by a network of paths / small clearings with the bottom consisting of fine gray sand, so much so that it seems to walk on a beach. Maybe even some information board with geological notions would help, as well as predetermined itineraries within the area to avoid turning aimlessly and ending up in dead ends or risk falling off the cliff at the bottom of the sea (given the current conditions of the site). If you do not have a motorized vehicle (for example: a quad bike or scooter to rent) keep in mind that to get here from the port of Levante you have to travel 2 km (and as many to return), so in total for the visit you have to take at least an hour and a half: if you live on the island there are obviously no problems but if you are part of a day trip, perhaps you should use the time to stop at Vulcano for more interesting things, unless you are particularly interested in geological events.

It is a sort of public park left in total abandonment. We entered the forest where the sign indicated, following the trail of what was originally supposed to be a path. After the first "monsters", uninteresting lava formations, we turned back due to the impossibility of reaching other areas and the panoramic points over the sea due to the quantity of brambles and brushwood. Not even a wild boar could be comfortable exploring this "park" abandoned to neglect.

Not much to see and quickly dangerous (I was there with a group of teenagers, 24 young people aged 16/17). I was hoping to see more fun rock formations, I only saw one volcanic formation and that's it
