This is secluded and quiet. Not shops or crowds of people. You do have to walk a little to get there. Good for relaxing; the actual swimming wasn’t the best. Waves were far out and there are rocks as you go in. But if you just want to relax and enjoy the sand and pass time - I recommend it here. A part of the beach is clothing optional - which is good to know if you are into or not into that.

Super choppy waves, small beach. Nothing great, nothing bad, probably better places to visit than this beach.

We were staying at the Fairmont so just walked out every day. There are a lot of hotel guests with umbrellas. It gets a little crowded during the day. There are waves that never feel scary but are sometimes not enough to body surf. There is an amazing coral out a ways. Please be careful if you snorkel out there. There are beautiful things to see. No food other than at hotels. (no beach side places) Please wear reef safe sunscreen always.

We rented a condo overlooking Polo Beach. The beach had no more than 100 people on it at any time. It is a pleasant, quite beach at the end of "hotel row".

Polo Beach is the southernmost beach you can walk to continuously by walking on the beach or a coastal sidewalk beginning with Kam 1 in the north. The beach isn’t as big as some in the area but it is flat and good for walking and swimming. There is a public access parking lot just south of the entrance to the Fairmont Kea Lani. There are picnic tables and shade adjacent to the parking lot. The coastal sidewalk heading north to Wailea Beach offers scenic vistas and is very well-tended with local flora. The snorkeling between Polo and Wailea Beaches is very good. I recommend starting at Polo, snorkeling to Wailea, and walking back on the path. The snorkeling takes about an hour, moving slowly, and is best done early.

We didn’t try to get on to this beach as we were doing a long walk along the front. It was quite busy for December and I am still not sure if it only caters for those folk who are staying in the hotel behind it. That said there are lots of other sandy areas along the front so don’t be disappointed if this one turns out to be private.

One of the best spots in SW Maui to Boogie Board and play in the water. Good sets and very little lava to work around. Nice shower/bath facility near the Parking Lot and Beach.

So good to know the kids have plenty of fun at Polo Beach!! We can’t wait to get there. Beach Balls EVERYONE : ) Wonderful soft sand and perfect for boogie boarding! Good morning is the best time of day, for sure. Bathrooms are clean!
