A little gem of a place to visit. We stumbled across it on a walk as it is inexplicably not in the Lonely Planet guide. Very well organised, self guided tour of the archaeological site with helpful audio guides to explain all the history. The VR experience is well worth the extra payment - especially as prices are so low any way - and brings to life the settlement you have just seen. Very helpful staff to help make the most of your visit. There's a lot to see and they are still excavating so hopefully a lot more to come.

Well this place was something else and not what I was expecting at all.

So we decided to go by taxi as we were staying in the middle of Santa Teresa and it was 15 euros by taxi, so glad we did because it was a steep trip but only 2.7 kilometres from centre of town.
When you get there you walk a dusty path and then the museum building is on your right.

The staff were super friendly and helpful and we bought tickets for the tombs and the museum.

One word of caution here, bring water and sensible shoes as I was stupidly wearing sandals and they weren't suitable.

So we set off for the short walk to the tomb and it was a strange experience. I don't know what I was expecting, but the vibe , the feel , the air all seemed, well, different as soon as we got to the tomb. Little did I know that the best was yet to come.

We walked on and headed to the huts.

There is a picnic table under an ancient and magnificent olive tree and it was nice to sit in the shade.

As we headed on we came across the huts... The vibe changed and we felt a million sets of eyes watching us.
The place seems so odd, so unnerving and my eldest daughter just wanted to leave but couldn't explain why.

We left that area and headed back to the museum and it was very fascinating but, we left with more questions than we had answers to.

They have 3d glasses to watch a reconstruction and it was very good , but I couldn't help but feel the place is "off". Like an ancient long forgotten secret is being stored away.

The skulls in display had THE biggest and strangest vibe. I was mesmerised and all felt cold if I went near them. It was like they didn't make any sense, that they shouldn't be there.

I know this all sounds weird , but if you go there then maybe you'll get it.

I feel that you should go, the taxi told us our experience was not unusual, I won't return as I just don't think I could. The place is not of this world that's for sure and don't get me wrong, if I was brave enough, I'd definitely go back. But, I'm not, but I am glad I went.

The museum, although small, is very well done with lots of interesting information. Although I have issues with 3-D, it was helpful in understanding the community. The walk to the structure was very pleasant. The huts were great examples of the lives. Three of us went and we were all impressed. It is a good stop if you are interested in archeological sites.

Lovely little site a short walk from the town. Audio guide in English as well as signs. Visit the museum section first to help understand what you’re seeing.

Really great place to see a nuragie. Good excavations, small finds museum and an interactive 3d simulation of the site, rooms and tombs. Go see it!

Such an incredible historical place with significant Tomba dei giganti, several huts, and rest of the main building. The site is being escavated upon finding funding. I suggest to take a guided tour to also uncover about the local vegetation.

This is something that you don't want to miss if you are in the area! The nuragic complex is composed of a nuraghe, the remains of a village (8 huts have been dug out today but 36 were originally recorded in 1967) and a so-called giants' grave. We took a guided visit that we strongly recommend, the guide was knowledgeable, funny and answered all our questions: she piqued our interest for this ancient civilization that deserves more attention and research. Close to the entrance you can find a small exhibition that explains how the complex was discovered and delves a bit into the daily life of a nuragic community. It contains a 3D reconstruction of what the giants' grave would have looked like: they have several medias going from a VR headset (GearVR style) to a tablet. As a huge bonus, the whole exhibition is accessible to the visually impaired: all the texts are also available in Braille and they have several replicas of statues and vases to touch, together with a map of the complex that you can touch with attached headphones and audio cues. Gorgeous!

Super friendly staff and really interesting site. Amazing up-close looks at the whole village complex. The museum is really cool and uses virtual reality and tactile exhibits to show people neuralgic life.

The whole museum also caters for people without sight with Braille panels, 3D printed models and tactile displays. Really cool!

We visited on a hot late July morning and toured the museum display area (including the virtual reality trip into the Giants’ Tomb) before taking the guided tour. Our guide Alessia was very helpful and informative and gave us quite an insight to what we were seeing. Well worth taking the tour especially if you don’t have the time to read all the boards and books on the site, such as when visiting with young children who will get bored with boards pretty quickly. We would recommend taking the first morning tour at 9:30 as, by the time we took ours at 10:30 it was incredibly hot and we (as well as our guide) went about hiding in the shade of the trees. It was a very interesting morning and captivated even our grumpy teenagers! We will be visiting again to see what other wonders are excavated in the future.
