Disebut sebagai festival musik terbesar di dunia, Summerfest berlangsung selama 11 hari setiap tahun di pantai Danau Michigan di Milwaukee, WI. Hampir 900.000 orang datang untuk menonton lebih dari 800 band tampil di 11 panggung, serta untuk menikmati makanan, minuman, dan pertunjukan komedi yang melengkapi musik. One of the biggest music fests in the world, with a very diverse set of music. The crowds that it draws as you would expect are HUGE. I am not a fan of the event because of the volume of people, however, that is the point. Easy to find music you like here and celebrate with thousands of like minded individuals.

Awful, never again, overpriced nonsense and massively misleading in terms of the event in itself. It's a carnival with a couple of monster trucks and you pay ridiculous money for the privilege. Food was awful, queues were long and the overall experience was just rubbish, never again. Biggest waste of money.

Summerfest is an amazingly well planned out music festival that struggles to support the large crowds that it attracts. As long as you are aware that you will pay food & drink costs similar to a professional sports stadium with the same bathroom hassles, then it's an incredible venue with something to offer everyone & any music taste.
Parking is a pain as is travel out of the venue at night as you'd experience with any stadium venue, so just plan accordingly. Parking close is expensive but convenient, just expect longer times to leave. Parking several blocks away is very affordable & makes leaving a breeze if you don't mind the walk.
Food - not as many options as you'd expect but decent variety. Just expect very long wait times in line for the better options (30+ minutes on busier days/times).
Drink - You can get a Miller Lite in 100 places in seconds - never had to wait more than 5 minutes on the busiest of days & times. There are a couple craft beer stands but wait lines appeared to be in the 30+ minute area. Mixed drink options are very limited & expensive. 99% of the attendees drink beer.
Bathrooms - surprisingly inadequate for a venue of this size & poorly maintained throughout the day/night. Really it's only bad for Women, where I saw/heard wait times of 30+ regularly on Saturday night. Even during the day it's 10+ minutes everywhere you go. Men never had a wait more than 3-5 minutes. But by evening the staff struggled to keep them stocked with supplies and they are not cleaned during the day, so you can imagine what any large scale bathroom would look like after being used tens of thousands of times. #PrettyNasty.
Music - incredible. Something for everyone. Not a bad 'seat' in the house, although seating is usually limited but there is always a place to stand & easily see/hear the music. Jumbo screens at every large stage. Tiny pop-up stages with great local music are everywhere. So many music options that there is literally always a dozen spots you could go to that currently have live music.
Seating - you might have to walk around a bit but chairs/tables are always available to eat or relax for a bit. Most are by the water, away from the stages. Very limited seating by venues so get there early if you want a seat... although most concerts everyone stands anyway, option on the chairs/benches to see over the people in front.
So again, music lovers will love Summerfest. Crowd haters will not. It's a sea of people, always, and everything is expensive. But music, music, music... pretty great if you are not bothered by the rest.

Saw Lil Uzi Vert at summerfest tonight, they denied to serve me alcohol and claimed my REAL ID was a fake, and that I was underage, I've never had a fake id in my life, unprofessional, unserious staff

The prices are ridiculous, the food not very good. Plus, it rained and the volunteers working for SummerFest didn’t have a good handle on where all the events were located. I won’t go there again!

Great event with lots of wonderful music! Food an drinks are pricey but we expected that.
The one negative is that they don’t let you bring in your own water bottle. A bottle of water is $5.75, which is ridiculous! They should take a page from the Windy City Smokeout which encourages guest to hydrate and has filling stations placed throughout the venue.

Touted as "The world's largest music festival" Gimme' a break !!! 98% of what's there is not "music"....beating on a can.....twanging a string on 2 sticks....etc. is not "music". Heck...if that crap is music, you should hear my medleys after a can of beans !!!

We visited on the last day of Summerfest. We had a good time, lots of choices for music. There were long lines for food but the wait times were reasonable. Agreed with the prior reviewer about the trash. The trash bins were overflowing and people had no choice but to place their trash next to the bins.

First weekend was good. Paid 30.00 to park. Kind of alot but we were close to venue. Then we got inside. Drinks were RIDICULOUS!! $19.50 for a mixed drink in a tiny plastic cup. CRAZY!! The last weekend we went again. Very disappointed!! Parking was $50.00 to $60.00. COME ON SUMMERFEST!! Garbage everywhere!! Every garbage can was over flowing. People were throwing trash on the ground cause there was no where else to put it. For what you pay to park, eat, and drink you'd think they could clean up the trash oh and have soap in the darn bathrooms!! Very disappointed.

Have long loved Summerfest Milwaukee. We drive from southwest Chicago suburbs for this. All different types of music. Lots of food choices. Right on the lake. Be prepared for large crowds and parking/leaving issues. That doesn't take away from it for me though.

Admission covers access to the festival stages. Rides like the Ferris wheel, skyglider, etc. are an additional cost.

Does anyone have advice for taking kids (ages 8 & 10) to headlining act at Summerfest (The Killers). This is my husband and my favorite band and will be their first concert. I am torn between lawn (relaxed) or real seats (so they can see better). We would be in the PIT if it was just us!!

They have a huge monitor so they will be able to see from the lawn. To me it depends if they will sit still and watch, on the lawn they have a little more freedom.
