An amazing place to visit. Most of these plants are displayed tastefully in an outdoor setting. The plants are beyond beautiful and can be appreciated by people of all ages.

This is probably the best bonsai museum in the US- spectacular trees in a lovely setting. If you are heading north or south on I-5 through Fedrral Way, stop! The Rhodie Museum is next door and will soon have a beautiful array of spring and early summer flowers.

I rated excellent because it served our needs beautifully. I was looking for something not too involved before we got to our hotel by the airport so we weren't just sitting in the hotel all afternoon waiting for our morning flight. We've been to zoo's and gardens and museums, but this was something we hadn't done. It's easy to get to, not far from the airport, and doesn't take a lot of time. The bonsai truly are magnificent. We probably took about an hour from parking to leaving. Doesn't cost anything, but they take donations. There is also a rhododendron garden that does cost but we didn't do that. This was just me and my teenage daughter and even she thought they were cool. Some of the trees are over 100 years old. I recommend.

Stunning collection. The design of the spaces display the pieces with clarity and dignity. The walking path is easy to navigate and there are several places to sit. Each piece is accompanied by a brief history.

I actually reviewed this along with the Rhododendron garden. The two are side-by-side, and best done in a single trip.
The bonsai trees are wonderful - perhaps the best I've seen and displayed in an uncluttered museum-style. Two were seasonally spectacular - a rhododendron bonsai in full bloom (so a warm pink all over) and a wisteria also in full purple bloom. The museum puts bonsai in the context of the incarceration of Japanese-Americans in WWII. It's very well done. Though the museum is free, there's a suggested donation of $10 per adult.

Visiting the Pacific Bonsai Museum was a nice way to safely get out and enjoy the sunshine, and get a history lesson too! Spring is a wonderful time to visit, some of the trees were blooming.

Fantastic place to see several impressive bonsai trees in a safe outdoor environment and to learn about the important (and often neglected) history of the Japanese Americans from the local area who were forced to leave behind their homes and businesses as they were locked up in internment camps miles away during WWII.

This is a well-kept, outdoor beautiful display of stunning bonsai. You walk along an easy flat outdoor path. Each exhibit has details about each bonsai and memorable tributes to Japanese-Americans. To add to a peaceful experience, I recommend trying to go when less people may be there, and when it's not too hot and sunny. When we visited, one of the bonsai gardeners was working on one of the trees and was very helpful and answered all our questions. Visitor drop-off is available at the entrance, with parking a bit of a walk away. Free entrance and parking; donations accepted. The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is right next to the Pacific Bonsai Museum, and while it charges admission, the bonsai museum does not. Highly recommend visiting this hidden gem.

This was way more impactful than I had assumed going in. The museum is well-kept (although it was really hot the day we came), and the bonsai installations are all beautiful. The way they wove the cultural significance of the bonsai in WWII throughout a section of the exhibits was stunning.

Parking is currently a bit light, given the COVID situation, but nevertheless, the museum is open, running, and still lightly attended enough that you should absolutely go. Hidden gem, without a doubt.
