We had a guide take us to this incredibly beautiful location, which requires a high clearance vehicle because a typical passenger car would get damaged. We saw cliff dwellings, arches being formed, caverns, a view of a hundred miles, and so much more. This is the reason that Bears Ears deserves the status of a National Monument. Absolutely worth the energy to get here.

Our group visited Arch Canyon, this is a don’t miss Canyon.
The start of trail you can visit ruins, then onto the “Jail house granary” about 3 miles up the trail.
The Canyon has multiple dwellings, you will need binoculars, take time and look for them.
The end of trail has a nice picnic area for lunch.

This location is missed by many tourist. It is about 8 miles off the main highway and on a dirt road that you must travel between 10 and 20 miles and hour. Don't take low riding cars. Trucks and SUVs are fine. It is my believe that this location is more that what you see at the Grand Canyon.

We took another side stop and decided to check out the arch formations.

Great to get out and stretch our legs and explore some more.

The arches are great and my kids think they look like cowboy legs!! Very fitting out in the Wild West. Lol.

Lots to see with options of long or short hiking to keep you active. Views were incredible. We bought cd auto tour at visitor center in Moab and enjoyed it. We are active seniors. Moab is a fun place with lots of restaurants etc. We left our rv in Blanding to avoid elevation climb but lots of nice rv parks in Moab. Will come back with Grandkids.

This amazing piece of creation can be viewed from the canyon floor via 4-wheel drive or from the rim in an SUV or pickup. Stunning nature at its best.

The senery is stunning, it has woderful canyons and a beautiful river, that has been almost untouched by people. For all of its beauty, the drive back there is just as hard. There are plenty of bumpy spots, huge rocks and dips in the road. You will not be able to go back here without a very capable four wheel drive vehicle. If you can go back through the dirt road, definitly do!

Wow this just blew is away, the entire loop was just breathtaking, not for big rv's or long trailers some pretty tight turns so easy as she goes!

There are a couple ways to experience Arch Canyon. The most common is to take a high clearance vehicle and drive the trail (less than ten miles) to its end. Along the way you will see several Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan) ruins and cliff dwellings. There are huge monoliths throughout the canyon that reach up into the sky as you are crossing the canyon wash countless times. It's not an easy drive but it is definitely worth it. Standing in some places over 1000 feet tall, the canyon walls make you feel very small. From the end of the trail you can see the first arch, "Cathedral Arch". From the end of the ATV trail you can set off on foot and in a short hike find the second arch, "Angel Arch". If you want to see "Keystone Arch", you'll need to hike several miles further up the canyon.

Another way to see this canyon, and my personal favorite, is to drive to the Arch Canyon overlook on the Texas Flat road which is the same road you would take to get to the "House on Fire" ruin, about 10 miles further west along Hwy 95. The view from here is just as good as that from Angel's Landing at Zions and you don't even have to hike up a mountain to see it.
