Great motorcycle ride road. The slot canyon through Hog Springs is awesome.
Be sure to gas up in Hanksville before heading south, there is no gas between Hanksville and Blanding.

While leaving Hanksville you shortly come across the road sign that read "No Services for the Next 122 Miles". . . or something close. Either way that sets the scene for a great trip. The landscape change was surreal from beginning to end. Hite Bridge was really something and seeing where the Colorado River ends and Lake Powell begins is pretty amazing. My only regret is that I didn't have more time on this Hwy so we could have seen Natural Bridges National Monument.

We’ve been on the road for 8 weeks now traveling around the country. This route from Blanding to Hanksville has to be the best in the country. Every corner, every bend is a WOW moment.

The section we drove on for quite always was beautiful. Landscape views everywhere. What you don’t see is other cars. You pass one going opposite way maybe every 10 mins. Peaceful driving.

We came up from Moki Dugway (Hwy 261) & visited Natural Bridges NM first. Then, we took Hwy 95 to Blanding.
Great scenery! Lots of pulloffs for photo ops. Don't miss Roadside Kiva or Butler Wash Ruins.

I must say was of the best roads for scenery I have ever been on. We took some of the side roads drove back into the red rocks. Took some walks. The diffrent wild flowers were Unbelievable. But u have to walk the dried creek beds to find the most.
It’s a long drive gas up. Bring snacks and drinks
You will see so much !!!!!!!

This is a great scenic road and you will have many spots to stop and take some photographs. The road is well maintained and the speedlimit is 65.

This can be a long trip if one stops at all the places where great photos can be taken. It isn't that long a drive from Blanding to Hanksville (126 miles), and the speed limits are fast enough (65 MPH most of the way). Incredible rock formations make it tough for the driver to keep their eyes on the road!!

This is an exceptionally beautiful and scenic drive that is well worth any additional time you may incur while driving from Torrey, UT to get down to Mesa Verde NP or other areas. It really is beautiful but you will and can get caught up in some areas where passing a slower car or truck will be difficult. We happened upon a large load vehicle with a trailing and in front of cars where we had a tough time getting around all 3. However, this didn't distract from the magnificent scenery and rock formations. In addition, if you happen to be free of traffic the majority of time, we opted to exceed the speed limit.

Just when I think I’ve seen it all, there’s another Scenic Highway or Byway to drive. It would be easier to identify the “non” scenic highways in Utah!

What are the road conditions generally like between Hanksville and Blanding in late March ? We are in a SUV . It’s a rental so probably won’t have snow tires , so am wondering if it’s a snowy route then .

Beste Daniel en anderen, als ik rond 8u vertrek uit Bricknell en wil de scenic road in cathedral valley combineren met road 95 tot Blanding. Daar aankomst rond 19u30. Is dit volgens jou doenbaar?
Dank, Johan

It took me several very worthwhile hours. Going through Glen Canyon was outstanding, and I stopped at several occasions. How long it takes anyone is really dependent on how long you want to stop for. I think just driving through without any stops is a little over two hours, but the scenery is so stunning I can’t imagine not stopping, unless the trip isn’t to see anything but rather to reach a destination.

There was a campground in Hite Marina, The bad part is that Hite Marina is "closed" because the lake is low. What I mean with close is that officially is close, but you can still camp. Now you want to hear the great news? Almost all the places are in public land. so picking up spot with a small trailer is fairly easy. I do it every year when pass thru there. I used to tent but now I use a small teardrop trailer. You will love the place and the night view of the stars
Are there motels along the way

No, don't believe there is any motel lodging along that route. You either have to stay in Hanksville or Blanding. It's pretty remote along that route. But it sure is beautiful.
