What a really nice museum! Very informative and well done. The highlight is the ruins exhibit that lets you climb down into one of the rooms to really see what living in these dwellings was all about. Worth the stop.

One of the best museum's offering the wonderful collection of pottery and artifacts from the Puebloan period. The backside of the museum is an actual ruin where you can use a ladder to access a kiva and use a walking path to read placards of the ruins and lean about the site and surrounding area.

A wonderful small museum with many artifacts of the puebleon tribes that inhabited this area. Great displays and descriptions. Be sure to view the introductory film.

This small museum showcases the Chacoan great -house ruin behind the facility. Like the ruin, you can see most offerings within an hour or two. The best things about the museum, for me, has been the way it has emphasized the smaller personal aspects of Puebloan life. I remember a recent exhibit of sandals that have been found in ruins in the area. The exhibit showed how the sandals were made (and repaired when necessary), how they were worn, including children's sandals. Sometimes these humble but vital pieces of clothing were included in burials, so they must have been important to the people who wore them. That exhibit was typical of how Edge of the Cedars tries to humanize the empty ruins that we see all over the Southwest. When you go out back to the ruin, you see how it was more than just a large building, that it was the center of a real community of people.

Who knew Blanding had such a terrific resource for Native American pottery, baskets, artifacts, and more? We are so glad that a friend suggested we stop here. Only wish we'd started our SE Utah trip at the museum instead of ending there. The collection is superb and well curated. We thought we knew quite a bit about Native American pueblos, but we learned much more. There's an ancient pueblo ruin outside, easy to stroll around and through. Don't miss the little gift shop either. We found some books and other items to take home.

I wish we had had more time to spend in this beautiful building and outside ancient pueblo structure. They have a fantastic collection of ceramics, basketry, stone tools, other artifacts and an excellent movie that gives an overview of the period of Ancestral Pueblo peoples.

As someone who works at a museum I’ve been to a lot and this one did not disappoint! Definitely a must see. I loved that was also connected to ruins right outside the door. I also bought quite a few archeology and history books from the gift shop. Make sure to check it out!

If you are interested in Ancestral Puebloan pottery, you need to to go inside this museum. Their collection was much bigger and better-displayed than I expected, with some great examples of work from different periods.
