A fabulous family evening out!

The absolute highlight of our trip to North Devon. Despite the cold and blustery evening, we were delighted to catch the final show of the season.
We smiled from ear to ear from start to finish. A thoroughly enjoyable evening which whizzed by far too quickly!
A lovely family friendly, COVID secure, activity that we are still talking about more than a week on.

Perfect evening!

We had a fab evening at borough farm.
The sheepdogs were incredible, so highly trained and watching them work the sheep at close proximity and in the distance was a real treat. The ducks also made an appearance and were hilarious, particularly enjoyable for the children.
We also loved the falconry and the opportunity to get so close to these magnificent birds.
The show was great value for money at just over £20 for a family of 4. Drinks and biscuits in the shepherds hit were also great value.
Highly recommended- we will be back!!

Excellent displays, shame about the racism

This was an enjoyable evening overall but the treatment by the falconer of one of his volunteers was shocking. Having invited the man out of the audience, the falconer asked him his name, to which the man replied ‘Karim’. After making a comment about it being a difficult name (really?) he then asked Karim where he was from, which he hadn’t with any of the other volunteers. When Karim replied ‘Buckinghamshire’, the falconer repeated it in a sneering voice, clearly implying Karim couldn’t ‘really’ be from Buckinghamshire. It was awful. If the falconer doesn’t know why such behaviour is unacceptable, he really should educate himself. I can only imagine how Karim must have felt being treated like that in front of hundreds of people. Nothing but praise for the man with the sheepdogs, who was entertaining and managed not to be racist.

An evening well spent

This was absolutely brilliant. Plenty of seating, all with a great view. Lots of audience participation and friendly hosts. The show featured approx 30 minutes of birds which fly right over your head at great speed, so impressive. Then an hour of sheep herding in which several dogs show what they've got. It was lovely and funny to see the trainee dogs too who were slowly getting used to their commands. The duck part of the show was wonderful and to see the dogs do their final performance herding a field of sheep to a lower field was absolutely outstanding. Definitely worth the admission price and there were toilets and a small drinks hut too with cold and hot drinks.

Amazing! Loved every bit of it

Omg! This was amazing! Only came across it by chance driving through to woolacombe, but so glad we did! Kids loved it! We loved it! Was just amazing! The birds of prey were awesome and the audience participation was great - but sorry to say - Glen stole the show for us! Such an amazing skill rounding up sheep, all with a simple whistle or a few commands. Can’t believe Magz was only 10 months old, she already has the idea of keeping the sheep between her a d her master - even if she is a bit too eager :-)

Drinks were cheap too! All the staff were great..

All in all, a fantastic visit!

Thanks for a great time, highly recommended!

Great entertainment for a very reasonable price

A really great show. Great to see the dogs doing their regular work out in the fields & fun commentary. Lots of audience participation & all very covid secure. And it’s a bargain at only £7 / adult. There are benches to sit on or you can take your own camping chairs. Highly recommend.

Lovely evening!

A thoroughly pleasant way to spend a couple of hours, if you have any interest in the wonderful British outdoors you will love this. Brilliant bird of prey display watching these amazing creatures doing their incredible work. The sheepdogs were fascinating to watch in their working environment, not staged, just fantastic dogs on a real farm. Can highly recommend for all. Good value too, £20 for a family of 4.

Do NOT miss this... just great!

Who would think that 90 mins sat in a field in the rain, with the fog rolling over the hills would be a great way to spend an evening. Well look no further! £20 for a family of 4 could not be better spent. We had a great time and would highly recommend. Few COVID 19 issues from being sat in a field but all handled well, so very safe. A must do in the area... then to the pub for dinner!

Brilliant evening

We came here this evening post COVID closure. Was very impressed at how it was run with COVID measures in places.
Was able to pay contactless, toilet still available.
Hand sanitizer on exit. Social distancing really easy. Everyone spaced out on the field.
Worth taking blankets and chairs and they are happy for you to take in food.
Everyone who worked there was very welcoming, so informative.
The animals... all of them amazing. The dogs were so impressive and clearly love their owner as does their owners love them.
The duck display was funny and kids were in hysterics.
The end was brilliant!!
One of our favourite things we have done on holiday

Wonderful evening!

We spotted the sign on the roadside for the Falconry and Sheepdog display, so thought we would go along and watch.
We were not disappointed! Their first show back because of Lockdown, and David apologised several times if the animals didn’t ‘perform’
The ducks wouldn’t do as planned, but it was hugely entertaining, with David determined to get a duck down the slide....so funny!
The sheep herding was amazing to watch, it didn’t go completely as it should have done, but to watch the skill of David regrouping the two dogs and working them to bring hundreds of sheep close, was amazing. Our favourite bits were Merc keep jumping the fence to get fuss from audience, Sweep sitting in the water, Glen’s attention to David, and then Alfie ..... the ultimate duck herder.
Falconry was great to watch, with excellent skill and clear love for his birds, it was enjoyable to watch the swooping birds.
The Covid measures in place didn’t deflect from the show, and can completely recommend this to anyone.
Excellent work! It does get a little chilly, so make sure you take a jumper or blanket.
