This farm is truly a multi-generational farm with the best of folks running it.

We went for the second time. First for strawberries and this time for pumpkins. The kids loved it and it was not hard on the grownups. The playground was a hit.

I was at a job interview nearby and decided to stop by and check out the sunflowers.
The Ledford family has kept the farm going for 50 years. The offer both pre picked produce and pick your own. Their farm produces corn, beans, tomatoes, squash, bell peppers, and egg plants. And this time of year (late August through October) they are known for their sunflower fields. From May to October, guests can enjoy fresh picked veggies for their own kitchen table. You can also find them at the farmers markets and local grocery stores. And many of their products end up at local restaurants.
I checked in at front and the lady manning the front gave me some shears to cut the sunflowers and off I took. There were several fields and I started at the one closest to the parking lot. I was just taking pictures here since these fields seemed a bit more scarce. While snapping away I kept hearing goats. I come back out of the field and spot a fence with some goats and sheep. And just like a little kid I head there squeeling and can't wait to go pet the babies. Some 30 minutes later I am trying to figure out if they would notice 3 goats and 2 sheep missing.
Then I head out to the right side which has yielded more sunflower fields. The flowers here were not as tall I was expecting. I have been to some fields where the flowers are taller than I am. But these were about my height. And you are going out in the field so think about the weather and wear correct foot wear. We had the rains from the hurricane this past weekend so the ground was a mess. I started to wear flip flops and was glad I didn't. Dozens of pictures later I pick a few of these beauties to have in my own home. I go back in and check out the produce and grab a few things for my self. I was surprised to not see allot of pumpkins except minis.
Even on this Monday afternoon, the place was always busy. Back inside they do offer restrooms and drinks. You can pick up some produce here. They also have cookbooks, jams and jellies, honey, etc. The folks here are very friendly. There is plenty of parking. They do have picnic tables and a playground for the kids. And just keep checking as they offer a number of events through out the year. And when the sunflowers are in bloom, they do offer photography sessions for formal and family pictures in the fields. This is way more than just a produce stand. It is a destination to come have fun, pet some cuties, and enjoy the beauty!

This farm hosted a gathering of 50 people. The sunset was amazing, the food was excellent. Their chef has the cooking talent and he is also blessed with a great personality. We all felt that we were visiting a friend. A really special friend that knows how to cook!

This is a U-Pick farm plus a fruit & vegetable stand. They have good quality produce and a nice variety at good prices. Their strawberries are especially tasty this year. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you want produce for freezing or canning, you can order ahead to be sure you will have what you need. I live close by and have been going to Beechwood for years. Best produce place in Greenville county!

I know I can always count on Beechwood to have a lot of what I'm looking for when it comes to fresh produce, even down to full cases of just picked green tomatoes for making chow chow. It's also great that they encourage the kids to come out for tractor-pulled hay rides.
I wish they would go organic - their customer base would go through the roof, as it would if they went the entire non gmo, heirloom varieties only route.

Had a great time buying vegetables and walking around several sunflower fields. The family that owns the farm was very friendly and gave us lots of great info. I saw an area for small kids to be able to play. We will be back soon!!!!

This isn't just a place to buy produce. You can choose between buying already picked produce or picking it yourself. There's lots for the kids to do in the large playground if they don't want to help pick. The Owners are very community minded opening the field to busloads of school children to come pick strawberries and play. There's a picnic shelter, too. Owned and operated by a wonderful family.

Beechwood Farms is a place where you can acquire vegetables from late spring through the summer. All manner of veggies are available - anything grown on the extensive farm - wither at their market or pick-your-own.

We love our farm. It has been owned by the Ledford family for over 50 years. It has great produce and even special events such as farm fun days, The Moon Boom, and the Rodeo. You can buy pre-picked produce in the market, or you can pick your own.
