The tour was excellent and John was awesome! Even though I have been to Greenville many times, I knew nothing about its history! John made it extremely interesting and the slides were beautiful!

Great tour, highly recommend. Slightly over an hour at a nice pace. Definitely a must do if you're even slightly into history.

I took a Greenville history tour this month with Mr. Nolan and one of his culinary tours last summer. Both were fantastic! Mr. Nolan is very knowledgeable about Greenville and such a good tour guide. You'll love his tours!

The tour was very well done. John Nolan our guide knew much about Greenville. We visited parts of Greenville that I've near seen and I've lived here over 50 years! I hope to do some of the other tours.

Whether you've never been to Greenville (like me and my husband) or if you've lived here your whole life, this is a must-do trip You'll learn a LOT about the city and how it developed RAPIDLY just a short time ago into the beautiful city you see. Highly recommend this! John is great!

On time to pick us up, very easy going, well spoken, knowledgeable guide.
We enjoyed ourselves very much. We were visiting Greenville SC just for an overnight and next day exploratory trip with shopping, food and history when we decided to learn more and John certainly added to our trip.

This was a really interesting and informative Saturday afternoon. We live in Greenville and it was a gift to us from our son and we really didn’t know what to expect as we had never done a culinary tour before. There were 11 of us on the tour and we not only enjoyed the food and drinks but getting to know the others on the tour was really fun. The tour guide, John, was first class and we learned a number of historical tidbits about Greenville that we didn’t know.

A really nice two hour tour highlighting the history, past and present, of Greenville. Our guide, John, had extensive knowledge of the area. Plus a big screen TV in the van added great visual aids like maps and before photos. Well worth the time.

I have done so many tours with John and all are awesome. He is very knowledgeable abt Greenville’s history. I just did the countryside tour and it was amazing. Load up in the van and just sit back and relax while riding thru the countryside learning history along the way. Highly recommend doing any of the tours, you won’t be disappointed with any of them.

I am a frequent visitor to John’s tour and I can’t say enough about all his tours. With that said, I don’t live in the area and I visit specifically for John’s tours. This was my second time on the Chefs Table and it is different every time. John loves food, his city, his history, and his restaurant partners. The chefs and managers make you feel welcomed. They make their dishes for your tour as if you were a reality show judge… They explain their dishes and answers questions. The drink pairings are well thought out. The dishes on this particular tour were great and the dessert was unbelievable. If your live in Greenville, this should be a frequent activity. If your live elsewhere, this is a must do. Will I go back… absolutely!

Sorry for the late response. After 5 years at $45 I've recently changed the At the Chef's Table culinary tour price to $49...still WELL below the cost of most food tours.

We will be checking in on Thursday Dec 1 and leaving Sunday, Dec 4, would we be able to join a tour during this time? If so, should I go ahead and make reservations for 4?

You need to call the owner of the tour and seek a reservation with him. The name is listed in my review, and there is a website with a phone number...........

how do you dress for the tour

Hi Patricia,
Saturday tours tend to be more casual...shorts, jeans, khaki, etc and Tues evening tours tend to be nice casual or business casual dress. That said, guests come in t shirts and are fine. It's up to you, but the above suggestions are just that...suggestions.
