Hidden gem you wouldn’t know was there unless someone told you about it.
Nice shaded dirt trail along the French creek.
We like to call this the bridge to bridge trail.
Trail goes between two historic bridges.
History plackards scattered along trail telling facts of the French creek and the mills it supported.
A picknick at the old swimming hole maybe!
The. Newly resurrected mill along side the working covered bridge make your mind wonder back in time.

This path extends East from “The Iron Bridge” on Hares Hill Road to The Mill at the covered bridge on Rapps Dam Road and then to Township Line Road along French Creek. A third of a mile section is paved west of Rapps Dam Road. There western section is mostly flat and also has two pedestrian bridges with ramps making them wheelchair accessible. The eastern section is more hilly with newly built steps. In some areas you are close to houses but in others you can feel quite isolated. There are maps posted and signs explaining some of the historical ruins along the path. The mill was once a powder mill for ammunition in the Revolutionary War. Some of the path may be muddy as you are along the creek. There are free parking areas at each road. This trail is maintained by East Pikeland Township?

We live fairly close to the trail and love to walk it year round. There is a good amount that is paved. When it is dry, you can walk from one bridge to the next. It is well maintained and always beautiful.

We live just up the hill from this trail and walk on it regularly. Part of it is paved and the rest is a natural trail. Much of it follows the creek which is lovely to see and hear. From fall colors to snowy scenery to summer wildflowers it is picturesque.

This is a very nice trail that follows the French Creek. Part of the trail is paved and part is a natural surface. There are 2 very nice bridges located on this trail. There are also some markers for the old armories that existed in the Revolutionary days as well as an old mill at the end of the trail.

Was in town for a work trip and located this trail for a follow-up run to the Schuylkill River Trail I'd done the day before. This trail is small, very wooded, dirt (mostly) and pretty scenic running along a creek/river. My only complaint would be that the trail could stand for some more use, or some more mowing, as there were a few parts where it was starting to get overgrown by grass/weeds, and other places in the woods where only some well-laid logs allowed me to keep track of where the trail actually was. The history along the trail is pretty cool -- including placards/displays about the revolutionary war events which took place directly nearby. This was a nice trail; though I'm not positive I'll be back soon, mainly since there are some other trails around I'd likely explore first.
