I am in Lancaster for Black Friday and planned on hitting the outlets. I went to the Rockvale Square outlet and to say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. Half the outdoor strip mall was vacant and the other half had two outlets, Crate and Barrel and Oshkosh. They had a store geared towards baseball bats (forgot the brand, begins with a P. They had a Cracker Barrel, I have that back home in NY. If you’re looking for a true outlet mall, like Tangers, skip Rockvale Square.

This is a run down version of a once great looking place. However. We totally enjoyed the ax throwing location and had a blast !! We also enjoyed the Pepperidge farm outlet and qvc outlet as well as several others. It was a fun and not crowded getaway for a Saturday afternoon

Before you go do note that there are not a lot of stores in this mall, but if your looking for qvc outlet or Pepperidge farms outlet its definitely worth a trip. We stop every time we are in Lancaster for the Pepperidge farms outlet and stock up on the different gold fish bags. The prices are fantastic jut make sure you check the expiration dates. Now qvc is kind of a crap shoot on what your going to find, not a lot of stuff and kind of just hodge podge but if your not in a hurry and choose to look around its a fun place.

Loved shopping here. Great value so many different stores to choose from. Good prices and the people were nice. We had to go shopping because our hotel was overbooked. Bad reason to shop but we are glad we did it.

Sad to see what was a bustling area go so quiet. Hoping more stores re-open as tourism picks up again. Still love that Redding China and Glass is open and fully stocked! Got everything I needed with friendly service!

Was so excited to visit the shops. Was so sad to see most had moved out. Too many abandoned shops. Those left seemed to be picked over.

My husband and I used to come here all the time around the holidays for shopping. Imagine our shock last visit when the place was basically empty. I was so surprised to see that most of the stores have moved out leaving only some smaller stores behind. None of the stores that we used to visit were there anymore! Its a bummer to see this place cleared out, hopefully they get some better stores in soon because id hate to see this place go vacant...

As a senior citizen, there were not a lot of stores I was interested in visiting other than Talbots and Chicos.

We stopped here to visit several stores (OVC, Disney, Nissley, Pepperidge Farm and Kirkland's). We were surprised how many stores were vacant (50-60%). We were told that the center was recently sold and the new owner was planning to repurpose part of the center. None the less we visited the stores we wanted to and had a successful shopping afternoon.

Rockvale hasn't held up quite as well as the Tanger Outlets a mile or 2 west but still has an interesting mix of stores. The empty store fronts take away from the overall property, but there are still 40+ stores, such as Rawlings, Kirkland, Lee/Wrangler, QVC, Christmas Tree Hill, Loft, Pepperidge Farm and Reading China & Glass.

Hi Ginger, I don't drive and will rely on taxis to get around. Is the hotel next to Rockvale safe to walk around (Traffic-wise - especially crossing Lincoln Highway)? And is it the Steamboat Hotel that is next door to Rockvale? Thank you. Chris G

Bird & Hand Hotel is on Rt 340. Market right down the road.
Request a Lancaster booklet. There is a map in there that
will you show where all things are located.
Tanger has all the usual stores we have in the east.

They have a website that you can Google to see what stores are there. Note that about 40% of the store spaces are empty. It's sad to see as I remember when they were full after they opened. I would also check out Tanger's about a mile away. This is my preferred outlet and I recently heard they will be expanding in the near future.

Holiday Inn Express is right in the parking lot. Steamboat Hotel is just across the street. I enjoy staying at the Amish View Inn, just a few miles down the road (see review) with a great breakfast.
