Beautiful beach, but can be crowded sometimes. The snack bar is good and nice to have nearby while on the beach. If you plan to go more than 3 times definitely buy the season pass. Its $60 and allows you to park for free the whole summer. After 3 trips it pays for itself.

I mean what can I say, my childhood memories were spent summer nights here with my family and family friends in the pavilion. No beach will ever be as special to me as Today.

TOBAY-Town of Oyster Bay Beach is one of the best beaches in NYS. It is a private beach for residents but you can pay a fee as a nonresident to gain access. The beach has concessions. Bathrooms, and lifeguards on both the oceanside and bayside.

Town of Oyster Bay -T.O.BAY is the south shore ocean beach for the town of Oyster Bay. It is considered part of Massapequa rhe most southern "village" in the town and is located on the Ocean Parkway, west of Gilgo Beach (Town of Babylon) and east of Jones Beach State Park. It is for residents with a daily fee or season pass and permitted nonresidents for a steep fee. HOWEVER in the wake of COVID 19 the township is not allowing non residents due to capacity limits.
TOBAY offers two entrances on to the ocean side theu tunnels located on the far west and far east corners of the parking lot. Both offered concession stands but the east side has a desk and tables. Rhere are bathrooms as well as outdoor spigot showers to rinse before leaving.
There is also a full Marina and access to beach on the Bay Side which is great for splashing the smaller children. There is a splash and water park that is currently open as well as two restaurants bus Irving take away and limited outdoor seating. I have been going to the speech my entire life. I have seen it washed away by storms replenished by the Army Corps of Engineers and my mother nature herself. I still see the same people I have seen for 40 years on this beach. There are lifeguards most you have been working at tobay the majority of their adult lives there was a surf lesson group but I do not know if they are running this year. There tends to be quite a rip current. There are signs to indicate what the rip is what to look for and how to manage if you are caught in the rip current. The sand is clean white and powdery it is a decent Beach for shelling depending upon what the wind has delivered.
Overall tobay is a gem for the residence in the town of Oyster Bay. If you're lucky enough to be able to enter as a non-resident spending the entire day will make the entrance fee well worth it. Not quite as busy has Robert Moses or Jones Beach. There is personal space to be found and enjoyed even during a very busy day

We came to Tobay today because Robert Moses was jam packed. We decided to hang out on the ocean side of the beach. There is a cool tunnel that goes under the highway to connect the bay side with the ocean side. Two beaches for the price of one! We had a wonderful day. There was a huge car show in the parking lot which we stayed an extra hour to look around.

Easy to find. The cost to get in if you’re a visitor from out of town is a whopping $50 right off the bat. Why, I ask myself, do people have to pay anything, let alone this much to spend a day at a NYS beach. I’m a tax paying resident of New York, and I’m already paying for the maintenance of all these beaches! How does any town get to set a standard of how extravagant a fee they set as a way to allow access to what is every New Yorker’s right to enjoy, a day at any New York beach! Other than that, it is no more special than many other beaches across the state.

The two new restaurants at TOBY are open. GREAT for a summer evening. Food and service are OK. Nothing better than live music on a summers night played on the new bandstand.

TOBAY beach is a private town beach—town of oyster bay. The beach is well maintained on the oceanfront with concession stands and bathrooms. It is my favorite beach on Long Island.

Unfortunately you do not get discounts if you are not a Tobay resident. Daily parking for non-residents is $50.00. If you are a senior resident, you can pay a one time fee of $32, they will issue you an ID card. Each year you present that card with your registration at the beach and you will get a new sticker which gives you free beach access for the year. Also, non-residents can only use Today Beach Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
Can TOH residents go to restuarants without paying $50

Trying to recall...Across from Tobay beach on the Bay side, I remember a new cute eating establishment--glass building, Maybe a concession stand, maybe a Cafe? Does my memory serves me well? What's its name? I just remember how the Bay side was a nice quaint spot. Any clues?

There are 2 restaurants on the Bay side at Tobay. The Crazy Oyster is sand level and is open every day. Mango Bay is farther back and elevated but you should check when they are open.

Unfortunately, no. The only loophole, though, is to have a resident in the car with you. He can show his ID and you'll receive the resident rate.

Hi have not been to Tobay since becoming
Disabled so
1) is the parking still very far from sand or food concessions
2) would I need a wheel chair if so how is access?
3) is there a place for handicap people to sit because they can not walk on sand?
All knowledgeable answers greatly appreciated Town of Oyster Bay Res.

If you are a Tobay resident, they now have disabled passes. You can go to one of the town halls, bring verification of disability. They will issue you a card (one-time $32 fee). After that, each year bring your card & registration and you will get a yearly beach sticker free.
