Great exercise trail

Large park with many walking trails.
Nice pond and small dam.
One trail has nice exercise equipment spaced along the way.
In summer they have free concerts in the park. Captain Jack's Billy Joel tribute band is the best!

Lovely walk

Lovely park for a long walk especially with your dog but feel that since the lake is no longer there it’s a great shame. It used to look so pretty.

A Great Place to Run
Okt 2018 • Teman
Deerpath Park is a very nice place about 4 miles north of Flemington. It also happens to have one of the four or five best cross country courses in New Jersey. While it does not have as steep upgrades as Holmdel or Garrett Mountain, it has rolling hills that make it a fair course.

Not as many runners do cross country as road races and track & field but it is a nice change of pace in autumn running on dirt paths and grass fields in the fall foliage.

Most years, Deerpath hosts a USATF state championship as well as various high school runner. If you are a runner or a spectator of a friend or relative who is a runner, it is worth the trip.

What happened to this park!
Jul 2018 • Keluarga
I must say that I grew up going to this park. I used to spend summers in the streams and walking the trails. I even caught my first fish at this park. Recently, after not having been to the park in several years, I brought my husband and daughter back to the park and was very disappointed. The lovely pond that used to be the highlight of Deer Path Park is GONE! Like, completely gone. Apparently, the damn that help the pond back was breached during a storm in 2016. Nothing seems to have been done to rebuild it and the pond is fully grown in with weeds. The building surrounding it are rundown, and falling apart, the parh surrounding it closed, it’s a very sorry sight. I was quite disappointed. Not only that, but things seemed to have been let go, there was trash all around the playground, and the area near the trails was quite grown in. The soccer fiends and sports area are intact but if you are looking for a nice nature walk around the once was pond, forget it. The area is not worth your trouble. It was a very sad sight.

Even better the Park is right next to the YMCA
Jan 2018 • Sendiri
The Deer Path Park is a great park with fitness trails, pavilions and playgrounds. It’s a great family destination. What’s even better is it’s next to the Hunterdon County YMCA. The Y has an indoor pool, gymnasium and fitness center. The park and the Y are a great combination. Side by side.

Too chilly to truly appreciate it, but it looked nice.

Late in January the weather forecast promised warming weather. They were wrong, but I was determined to stop @ this park since I was in the area.

The park is actually right outside Flemington in Readington, part of the Hunterdon Parks and Rec. Dept. The park is located right next to the YMCA and is much larger than I anticipated. There are soccer fields, picnic benches, a gazebo, play equipment (near the last parking lot), a fitness trail and a surprising set of paths, that one would benefit from a map to navigate. I was looking for the pond that another reviewer mentioned, but it was too cold to go searching for it. Besides, my feet were cold!

In one of the parking lots there were informative fliers about programs the Parks Dept. is sponsoring for the spring, including, birding outings, events for children, hiking activities and more. I was surprised, now I have to see if my county offered the same kind of events. If not, I will be asking to go on some from Hunterdon County.

Summer Concerts and More
Jul 2017 • Pasangan
Deer Path Park is a wonderful place to spend time in the Summer, but even a walk on a cold day with your pet can be invigorating. I love the Summer Concert series on Thursday evenings--free--that feature groups ranging from classical to pop to country. In the past, I have seen performers such as Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Janis Ian, Redbone, Peter Noonan (of Herman's Hermits), covers for Elvis, Billy Joel, and do-wop classics. We bring our dog, a blanket, some informal picnic food and just listen under the stars.

The park is nice. I like the running trail with exercise stations. It is not anything special but a nice quiet place to go walk, run or bike.

Deerpath Park is a sweet surprise just minutes from Flemington and Clinton, New Jersey. Walking trails surround the park which has state of the art outdoor exercise station along the trail by the woods. If you are a soccer fan, get ready to play on the beautifully manicured fields, or take your little ones for a great time ion the modern playground equipment by Cedars Pavillion. Hungry? Fire up the barbecue for a burger to hot dog. Thursday's, throughout the summer, come at 7 for a lovely outdoor concert. Bring a chair or blanket and be sure to bring your dog for a nice family night out. Ahh, nature!
