Stunning example of love, loyalty and faithfulness. While People change, the faithfulness of Dogs are always ever true. MAN AND HIS DOG.... AS OLD AS TIME!!!

The cute story will warm the hearts of pet owners everywhere. Nothing special to look at, but the story behind the memorial will make you know that dogs really are “man’s best friend”.

The timeless story about Shep is one of legends. It’s the story of the faithfulness between a dog and the owner. “Until death do us part.” If you end up in Fort Benton, or you are passing by Fort Benton, it is worth the stop to learn about this legendary dog that faithfully waited for the return of his master at the railroad station until the day he died. It’s a heart wrenching story that I was told as a kid in the 70’s, but I still hold near and dear to my heart now that I am in my 50’s. Shep is buried on top of a hill overlooking the railroad and Fort Benton. A small monument has been placed at Shep’s gravesite.

There is a monument at Fort Benton. Every tourist come to see it as it is special.
Shep was a dog. His owner and the dog took the train. However, the owner died in the hospital.
Shep the dog stayed at the railroad waiting for his owner. He never came back.
He stayed constantly on the railroad. People were giving him food.
After a few years, he died and he was buried neat the railroads.
We can still see the monument and the burial of Shep the Hero.
This is a must see!
