This is a real show stopper on the way to Jasper. From Valemount. We went back again to see it covered in mist. The visitor centre was terrific too.

We were so lucky to get to view this peak on a beautiful clear day. It is the highest peak in the Rockies. The visitors centre is excellent and there is a lovely cafe with lots of gluten free options.

Stopped by Mount Robson for lunch. What a great place or lunch. The center is closed for the season. But gas station and gift shop are open.

Since we left Valemount towards Jasper, driving on the Yellowhead Highway, we always enjoyed the view of Mt. Robson from our car. It's a huge beautiful mountain, the highest point in Canadian Rockies. It's located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park. We stopped at the Visitor Centre to take a close look at this mountain.

Even if it's raining and you can't view the summit - taking a look inside the visitor centre is worth the stop.
Of course a mountain should get 5 stars! :)

Mount Robson located in the Mount Robson Provincial Park of British Columbia is the highest peak in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The peak stands at an elevation of 3954 meters or 12972 feet. The Fraser River originates as a trickle from up this mountain eventually flowing down to the Pacific Ocean. It can be easily seen and photographed from the Yellowhead Highway and the VIA Rail train running from Jasper to Prince Rupert. The nearest towns are Jasper in the east and Valemount in the south-west.
We passed Mount Robson twice while doing the VIA Rail trip from Jasper to Prince George and back. The first time we passed it was covered by thick clouds so we did not get to see the peak, but on the return trip we got a clear view of the high mountain and took some pictures too. It was an impressive sight to behold.

We saw this mountain on a rainy and cloudy day but even then the view was quite stunning. We were fortunate enough that the clouds moved enough for us to take some quality pictures. I could only imagine how this mountain would look like in a clear day. Million dollar view.

Mt. Robson is a beautiful mountain! Highest peak in the rockies I've been told.
Make sure you drop by when there is a clear sky because the mountain tends to hide itself quite frequently. We spent about 3-4 days down there and couldn't see it until the end of the 2nd day, and by the third day we were able to snap some good pictures and actually gaze the magnificient mountain.

Sadly I only had time to spend half a day in the Mt. Robson area...
Located right next to Jasper I fear it is often overseen.
Highly recommend allowing yourself a full day to do the Berg Lake Trail or at least Kinney lake.
