I've booked a 3d2n tour with this company and I was very happy with the guide and porters, the accommodation before the trip, the drivers that picked me up and dropped me off, the food the porters cooked was great and they took care of us. We were a group of 6 with 3 porters and 1 guide. I had a problem with my sleeping bag and the guide gave me his instead. I asked for a private tent and they gave me a tent for myself. Nothing more to ask. The price for the tour was more reasonable than the other companies (but the people in my group were booked from other companies). The tour started from Sembalun and ended in Senaru and that's the recommended way, as you get to summit when you still have power. Also the way from Senaru is more slippery. Many tours sells from Senaru because tickets are sold out from Sembalun. This company made sure we do it the right way. The guide, Asan, also had like 9 years experience as a guide.
Totally recommend gobackpacker when going for Rinjani.
Please prepare beforehand otherwise is going to be a suffering experience. Rinjani isn't easy. It's very very difficult.

Many thanks to Gobackpacker for supporting us for our climb. Real special shoutout to Merta our solid guide and for doubling up as our photographer/ porter for surprise snacks/coke cans which he gave out to us slowly as treats for passing each checkpoint.
He’s a real veteran (worked 10 years as a porter before becoming a guide), extremely well versed along each and every turn of the largely unmarked paths, pointing us in the right direction each time and stopping periodically to check in on us. Despite his shyness about his grasp of english, he taught us about local wildlife, and you can tell he’s really passionate about trying to preserve the sanctity of this place.
To respect the mountain - both in the ferocity of its terrain and the majesty of the sights it has to behold - those who venture on this journey ought to be prepared with the right gear and do their utmost to leave nothing behind. Even with many summits under his belt, he was never complacent about the path and it was very encouraging to have a guide who was surefooted and yet cautious to remind us to take our time and be careful.
While everyone was rushing up the mountain to catch the sunrise, and thereafter tearing down to presumably get breakfast, he hung back to make sure I was doing ok
including slowing down to join me in my very frequent stops to just admire the view and soak in the atmosphere. He was a real lifesaver when he gently insisted to take my backpack across some treacherous areas of the route when he saw that I was struggling, and gave us his own hiking poles when he saw the ones we rented initially were subpar (for which we got a full refund for upon feedback)
Thanks also to our porters Tana and Gun for carrying an unbelievable amount of weight on their shoulders including all the ingredients for 3 days worth of meals, water and our tents, no idea how they managed in slippers the parts we had to scramble on all fours to get through!
Lastly thanks to nemo the manager for being gracious and dropping us off at our two different accommodations at the end of the hike despite it being at least 2 hours drive apart.

What an amazing experience! I had a wonderful time on this trek. The trek itself is a fairly gruelling slog up rather slippery gravel tracks but it’s 100% worth it. GoBackpacker made the whole process easy and the price was reasonable (although some people had paid less). Overall, would recommend!

真的是一次完美的体验！
我们是拼团，一共有六个人，三个荷兰小弟，一个美国姑娘，一个德国人和一个中国姑娘（我）
想到超级细心，我属于第二梯队，他会默默在后面提醒哪里好走，踩那块石头不容易滑倒，他还帮美国妹子背了一天背包，因为她的膝盖不太舒服。
伙食超级棒，属于露营的顶级配置了！每次的饭菜都不一样，汤，面，炒饭，炒面，每次都有水果和蔬菜，还有咖啡和茶可以选，真的辛苦背夫们！
整个的体验都很顺滑，当地人也非常热心，住的地方很棒，还蹭了当地乐队的排练现场版，早饭也很美味～
第一次来印尼，还是自由行，很开心很满足，强烈推荐！
It was such a great experience going with Go Backpacker!
We were a group of 6 people, coming from the Netherlands, America, German and China.
Our guide was super professional and considerate. He would remind us of which steps are easier, he also helped to carry the backpack of one girl because her knee was not feeling good.
The food was amazing, we had different kind for every meal, noodles, soup, rice, vegetables and fruits, the last day we even had Cola! Such luxury!
The whole experience was very smooth, picking up from the airport, hostel stay, driving to Sengigi afterwords.

We had an amazing time and can totally recommend to do this 3 days hike organized by Go Backpacker Rinjani. Everyone in the team was super nice: Nemo, Ali and Awal made our time unforgettable. A big thanks also to our porters that carried all our food, water, tents and sleeping bags and cooked delicious food three times per day.
The trek is really challenging but is doable if you have some experience and enjoy hiking and testing your limits.

We enjoyed our Rinjani hike organized by Go Backpackers! Everything was well organized, including our airport pick up. Be prepared that it is a very challenging hike with lots of elevation gain each day! Our crew of guides and porters were great and the food was delicious. If you aren’t expecting anything fancy and are up for a challenge, it’s great!
A couple of things to be aware of: everyone in our hiking group booked through different agencies and paid different amounts of money, but got the same service. If you are able to book locally and bargain, you’ll likely get a better price than booking online ahead of time like we did. At the beginning of the hike we received mineral water, but partway through our drinking water was bottles refilled from the spring. Although we were assured that it was clean water, we personally were glad we brought purifying tablets to filter the water just in case.

I simply had no idea what I was getting myself into when I decided to climb Rinjani, and did absolutely zero research except reading one blog post that recommended and led me to Go Backpacker. Titled something like “what to look for in a rinjani trek company,” GB’s inclusion of the “toilet tent” is what sold me…and that was ultimately the most insignificant part of the 3D2N journey that made Go Backpacker stand out among the rest. As a young solo budget traveler, I started to question my choice leading up the trip because I was meeting other backpackers talking about booking their trek for a cheaper cost, such as trips organized/advertised through hostels. Now that I’ve gone through the insanity of Rinjani (which I’m still processing and can’t describe in words yet), I could not be more happy that I chose Go Backpacker and am so thankful for my guide, Sun, and our 3 amazing porters.
There were many moments I wanted to give up and/or cry (on the way up to the summit and especially on the “easy breezy” way back down to Sanur) and I would not have made it through either if it weren’t for Sun consistently coming out of nowhere, telling me “you CAN do it”, and then staying by my side the entire time even with my very slow pace as my body was literally crumbling. On the way up to the summit, I was curious about the dozens of men sleeping on the sidelines as the climbers treaded on. I later learned that these were other guides from different groups, and this was one of the many moments where it was clear that going with GB was the right choice, as Sun and the porters went above and beyond to make such a challenging experience worth it for each guest. Ultimately, the sun still rises even if you’re not at the summit, but the feeling of accomplishment getting to the top was surreal and I owe it as much to Sun as I do myself.
The execution of the entire trip was flawless from pickup to drop off and perfectly planned down to the minute, and I have an endless amount of respect for these guys, who climb Rinjani multiple times a week, most of them in flip flops. Also, the food they prepared was some of the best I’ve had during my two months in Indonesia (If you are a vegan, I would bring a bag of protein powder/bars or something with you for protein at breakfast). Overall, 10/10 experience, I don’t ever write reviews (and they don’t even ask you to) but anyone considering climbing Rinjani should absolutely choose Go Backpacker :)
