intention to remind myself that I was going to visit the resting place for a great Muslim personality in our rich history.
This aint a movie site!

- Tomb and burial sites for Ertugal, Halime Hanim, Turgut Alp and others. We made dua here and walked around the site.
- There are some Alps dressed in traditional gear to give you some movie vibes- but that's it - don't expect more
- Souvenir shop with plenty swords, IYI tribe gear and houseware and gifts which was great to check out.
- Sadly facilities are linited for toilets and food. Small snacks and drinks you may find only.

Length of visit : 1 hour maximum

I had always wanted to visit the tomb of Ertugrul Gazi. The drive leading up to it was phenomenal as there was a heavy downpour of rain upon nearing the historical sight. Parking is superb along with the walk up to the main entrance where you can see Halime Hatun's tomb. Just a little ahead is the entrance inside the tomb. As you enter you can take off your shoes and see two alps standing inside the arched entrance where Ertugrul Gazi's grave is. The coffin is covered with a spectacular green cloth, surrounded by little boxes that contain the soil of countries from across the world. If you are respectful and greet the alps they even let you take a picture. On the opposite side, there is a marketplace to get souvenirs and you can pay in dollars or Liras. If you are a huge fan then must buy an axe, preferably small-sized as a showpiece.

We visited the Tomb to pay respects to the early beginning of the formation of the Ottoman Empire. Two alps stand guard to protect the Tomb at all times. His wife Halime Hatun's grave stones are nearby outside. Many people came by to pray by his Tomb. Across the way there is a small bazaar with various souveniers.

Paying my respects - able to recite Quran over his grave - the experience is a must as he was the one to set the path for the Ottoman Califate.
Beautiful peaceful place

I loved visiting here, we booked a tour from Istanbul and this was first stop. The tomb is inside the building abd all the Alps buried behind with a small market too.

Opposite is a hotel and a kari tent with chance to dress up and house ride. Dressing up is 20tl and a photo is extra Turkish lira. Deffo worth it!

Recently Visited in October 2020 . The Place is amazing such as , it’s little town well worth a visit if your history fan and most importantly Ertugrul Gazi fan. We drove for 6 hours from Antalya to there so if you are planning, make sure you know where you going as there is not much to do after visiting his tomb and museum and OsmanlLi restaurant is amazing for food.

Located in the small town of Sogut, it's approximately a 3 hour drive from Istanbul. A remote area but well worth it to pay respects to the father of Sultan Osman (founder of the ottoman empire).
