I had 2 deep tissue massages by Bestor that were excellent. He is very good and attentive. I had the traditional 60 minute for 150,000 idr. Just to let you this message was deep and slightly painful but that's what I asked for to remove/breakup knots and repair injuries. They can do a relaxing massage as well but don't expect soft music and hot stones as there's noise of people talking and motor bikes going by. Tha staff are very professional and friendly.

Denis Spa is the place, where not only the weary traveler but also many local residents find much needed relief to their bodily ailments.
The team comprises 3 expert ladys and 2 men. They excel in Reflexology and full body massage. Great treatment that you can feel a whole day. If you are not used to massage therapy and are overly sensitive you may ask for a softer preceding.
Any service includes feet wash and a hot ginger/lemon tea are served in a relaxing atmosphere.
You may speak about general health issues to the staff; they do give useful dietary advice. Denis, the proprietor runs a disciplined business that values customer satisfaction.

They offer 5 types of the message starting at 30 min up to 90 min to choose. Price 150-200 000. I had the one with the scrub.
+u can get a message finally (the only place in the city)
+price is OK
+afer massage u get a cap of ginger tea
-I was very cold
-I've got bitten by mosquitos during the massage
-beds are not comfortable, lying on ypur belly u have a pernament headache
-to get out of the scrub you shower yourself in cold water brrrr
-there are people waiting juat behind the curtain who talk and don't let u really relax
If u really need one go ahead if not wait for another city and better service

All staff very professional. Best reflexology massage. If only I had stayed in Rantepao more days to do a body massage!

One year later I came back to this place to find it improved, renovated and more sophisticated with new staff. It is a family business that is also favourite to many locals due to competitive, inexpensive services. You could meet your future tour guide here or be advised of one.
Various Massages are offered and you should talk to Denis the Manager about your health issues and requirements.
The foot reflexology can be strong but is very beneficial.
Different oils and ointments are administered.
The session is begun with a foot bath and finished with a nice cup of ginger tea.
Some customers come regularly and sometimes it is better to get a reservation for afternoons or evenings as it can get very busy. Bring enough time to relax and enjoy.

My two friends and I had the 90-minute traditional massage (rp 200k). All three of us thought the massage was at times painfully strong. They immediately find your knots and painful spots and work them. With me it was so bad that I did not enjoy the massage and was not relaxed at all, because I was constantly in pain or waiting for a painful part to start again. The other two enjoyed it overall, but do have sore calfs/back respectively.
As a side note: men / women are mixed and they also massage your butt and breasts.

Me ans my boyfriend had 2 massages each. My boyfriend had severe problems with his shoulder and found relief in the hands of the capable therapists working at Denis'.

Very good massage, probably the best i've ever had. Me and my friend went there after our Toraja tour. Our guide took us to this place. Highly recommanded!
