This was our first visit to Builth Wells and to what my husband now calls the Bonkers Coffee Shop. My dear husband has Alzheimers and Danny who served us was compassionate and understanding and we enjoyed an hour of looking round the well stocked and inviting shop and enjoying a great coffee. Needless to say, we'll be going back time and again. And . . . The bathroom was spotless! Thank you. Best wishes. Jenny and Ray

Quirky coffee and gift shop. We called in for a coffee and the lady was very friendly. She even showed us the flat which will be let out on air b and b. It's amazing, would love to stay there !

The only thing bonkers is the price .... without so much as a smile and a rushed ,what would you like I asked about panini...only three left she says .... I have worked in catering for over 20 years ...why would you expect your customer to accept one of your last panini at £7.50? decided on two of the leftovers and two coffees... total.....£20.75 😂😂 I really thought she had added another customers bill to mine by mistake.... I asked how come it was so much ... you get salad and crisps..she snapped back ... I told her to cancel the order ... she zeroed the till slammed the drawer shut .....
I will explain... I am not a tight wad ..I give to charity often, to homeless often and I am considered a generous person.... if a percentage of the proceeds went to charity I would have been a little bit more generous with my rating.... went along to the fountain pub ...it was pleasant and very polite staff... ordered my choice of panini x2 plus a portion of fries ( greedy) with hot drinks... £13.50 .... I can afford to donate a fiver to next homeless person I come across..... 🤗👍

‘You won’t be wanting anything to eat or drink’

Cafe staff were a perfect example of what’s wrong with the hospitality sector. Unfriendly surly rude. Waiting to be served quite obviously ignored and then asked ‘are you waiting to be served as we’re closing’. Utterly hopeless

Best cafe in Builth Wells :gorgeous food, gorgeous decor

stumbled upon this café on a day trip to Builth. Its run by lovely staff and the food is incredible, especially the home made cakes.

Passing through Builth and needed a lunch stop. . Very friendly atmosphere and great food and coffee. Helpful with Vegan options too.

Nice food, quirky, friendly staff

Had a nice lunch here. On a little family trip for a few days. Popped in, friendly staff, nice lunch. Good specials board. Good looking cakes/tray bakes, although didn't have room for one. Nicely made coffee. Quirky things to look at, mainly clothes. One high chair but that's all we needed this time:) would visit again if in the area.

Wonderful dog and people friendly cafe. Homemade food is cooked using locally sourced ingredients, and is always imaginative and delicious. This hub is used daily by local people as well as those passing through, and is always welcoming and accommodating.

Lovely cafe for a spot of lunch

Popped in during a short trip to Builth Wells, as we'd read the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We both had a Latte and the Welsh rarebit daily special for lunch, which was lovely. The cafe was a bit hot and stuffy as it was sunny outside and there was no air conditionjng so we didn't longer too long, but overall a lovely little quirky cafe which we'd definitely recommend.
