I love centers like this where it was a perfect combination of interesting history and artifacts, an art exhibit, and friendly and enthusiastic volunteers. Highly recommend stopping in!

Lovely little Art and heritage centre. The ladies there knew there stuff, really helpful .
We bought a lovely gift from one off the artists exhibiting there.
Really worth a visit.

We passed a very pleasant hour in here on 2nd July learning about the interesting and varied history of the town. The two ladies on duty were very friendly and informative and enhanced our visit. The the arts/crafts galleries were worth a look too.

Previously a chapel, now run by local people with lots of local knowledge and pride in their town. Very friendly and ready to share their stories

Converted chapel offering interesting info on local history. Upstairs there is a stunning art space where local artists exhibit their work.

We brought an American visitor for a very interesting visit. The craft gallery was good and she made a purchase. The people there were so friendly and answered all our questions. We then went across the way for a very good coffee where again the staff were so friendly. A very nice day out.

A local gem

I was renewing my acqaintanceship with the area after many years absence, and found that this little gem of a heritage centre had sprung up about 4 years ago. Beautifully converted (read how they did it) and filled with local knowledge and history. Refreshingly, it doesn't try to be anything other than parochial, and gives a fascinating insight into the local area. Art and crafts galleries are a bonus.

Very enjoyable visit!

This centre is very interesting,interactive and full of historical and effective facts about this historical town. The guide Mrs Susan Price, was full of enthusiasm and made these facts come alive. The Centre is well worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.

Beautiful building containing some interesting exhibits of the towns history

I really enjoyed learning about the towns history. The displays were very visual, some were interactive. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building was beautiful, fresh and clean. I needed more time to view the exhibitions in greater detail!

Amazing use of historic building

The depth of local history displayed there is amazing, the story of the ‘Wells’ together with the farming audio feature take this small town back to Victorian times and earlier.
If you are even moderately interested in local history this gallery is a ‘must’. Interactive displays and knowledgeable friendly staff ensure there is something for all ages.
Together with this is the art gallery featuring local artists work encourages return visits as it is changed monthly. Prices for original artwork are very reasonable.
And it’s free to go in!
