“Free and well worth a visit ”

Visited Llandrindod for the Victorian festival which inexplicably on an overcast but dry afternoon was cancelled without any notice. Looking for things to do we popped into here and was surprised by its mixture of traditional and modern layouts. The small building was filled with local interesting material and objects although due to its size does not really cater for disabled visitors. Well worth a visit and especially useful on Saturday afternoons when LLandod otherwise seems to close down.

A fabulous museum well worth a visit. Lots of information really well presented. Not so big that you get information overload but enough that you feel informed and you sense that the curators really care about their museum and want people to know about the area. Geology exhibits are fascinating.

Deserves to be more widely known and used

This small unpretentious museum rewards the traveller/visitor who wishes to learn more about the environs of Llandrindod, both ancient and historical and more recent. There is a very comprehensive collection of rocks, fossils and other artefacts from the origin of man to the present together with excellent written synopses of each period which have been been very well done. Settlements, history, influences can all be followed through the exhibits. There is also an art gallery upstairs.You can wander in and wander out, as some do, but we found 2 hrs worth of interest. Admission free, parking on the street nearby. Suitable for a rainy day in Llandrindod!...or even a dry one!

Local history, lots or geology. Quite an old fashioned exhibit as you might expect in a small town. Reserve an couple of hours to visit

This museum is a fantastic asset to the people of Radnorshire! The museum is very informative about the whole of Radnorshire and the Gallery hosts some wonderful local exhibitions!

Lots of geology and war-time exhibits, but a bit lacklustre. Helpful chap running it, but it closed at 4 pm, which seemed to suit him as a young family member arrived into his care not long before that time. This didn't give us a long visit, probably 30 mins at most, but it was enough for me. I had been interested to learn more of the wells and springs which helped Llandrindod get going, but having spent 10 mins on the internet before arriving at the museum, there was nothing more actually there compared to what I'd already learnt. I understood that more of the town origins might normally be explained and we'd arrived whilst war anniversary exhibits were being displayed.

Well worth a visit

Heard about this museum from a friend and went to visit recently.

Lots of artefacts and historic items on display, especially relating to 'Radnorshire'.

Friendly helpful and knowledgeable assistants on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Pleasantly surprised that there was no entrance charge.

Well worth a visit if in the area and a chance to see the mostly 'lost' splendour that once was Llandrindod.

Just about the only thing open in Llandrindod Wells. We went tto Landrindod Wells for a weekend, but all the tea shops were closed on Saturday by about 4:30 or was it 5:00. Cycle museum closed. So disappointed, don't bother asking at the Toursit Centre because it is closed. What a shame. We shall not bother coming back to llandrindod Wells. The lady at the Museum helped us with ideas of things to do. The museum had a lot of rocks and interesting fossils. War memorabilia. Roman things. It is worth a visit and it is free

Quite cute but..

Nice little museum, definitely worth a visit. And the picture gallery on the first floor was an interesting bonus. But it just needs something extra, like a little tea room, a gift shop. Something. Staff were friendly and welcoming which was great, but something extra like a tea room of some kind would make it a bit more special.

Very interesting...

We visted on a showery may day and were not dissapointed. We received a warm welcome on arrival and directions to the various exibits.

Lots of interesting displays and screens downstairs mainly showing local fossils and how the area was many years ago.

Upstairs again displays about the old airfield and station and birds of prey.

Well worth a visit and its free!
