This is not one of the "main waterfalls" in Iceland, but it is a beautiful little waterfall that comes with the added advantage of it not being one of the "main waterfalls".
Due to this the experience visiting it was quiet and peaceful. You park at a campsite - a little odd and not entirely sure I was meant to park there... but once parked it is a short <5min walk to the falls over the road.
There is a lot of rocky flat terrain for you to sit and have a picnic should you want to or to even just sit and take it all in. The waterfall comes through a canyon as well which made for some interesting viewing with a drone. Not too far off of the main ring road (Route 1) around 5 mins total.

Beautiful stop along our journey through wonderful Iceland. Lovely falls and little stream for kids to play in/with. Spent a happy few hours here after stopping at the Adventure hotel just up the road.

Made even more beautiful by the unexpected snow. Nice little walk from the roadside or nearby hotel.

Very nice, beautiful waterfalls that you can visit for free. I highly recommend as its a nice small walk with a big parking lot.

Having spent the morning at Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon we drove a few kilometres to have a look at Stjórnafoss waterfall. We ate our picnic lunch in the car as it was still raining. It would have been good to have had the opportunity to eat outside - there was a large area for picnics, with clean toilets and a small children’s play area. We had a look at the waterfall, getting very close to the splash pool where it would have been very easy to take as dip. The lower falls formed a semi circular screen over some domed rocks. It was only when we stood away from the falls in a slightly elevated position that we could view the upper part of the falls.

Very impressive it was one of the bigger waterfalls in Iceland we saw and definitely one to see. Parking across the road was easy too.

At the roundabout, head away from the ring road, and just a mile or two (north?) you will see this lovely fall in a pastoral setting. There was just enough room for us to park on the side, but there is parking along the road, to the right.

Pretty little waterfall that spills into a decent sized pond perfect for swimming! We jumped in a few times, though we didn't last long in the cold water, but it sure was refreshing!
It's a short walk to the waterfall from the parking area, say about 5 minutes, all on flat terrain.
I stayed a night at the campsite, as well. Not a bad camp site, quite large with plenty of space to pitch a tent or park a camper van. Toilets and a dish-washing station on site.

You can get really close to the waterfall. So close that you can climb to the top of it and jump down in the lagoon!

Such a pretty fall and right off the road. We arrived early in the morning on our way to the glacier park since we were staying close by. You can get very close to the falls and it’s safe. Gives you a nice idea of the places to come.
