Worth a Look if You’re in the Area
Feb 2020
The Parque Centenario is a large circular park bounded by Av. Patricias Argentina and Leopoldo Marechal, which also holds the Berndardino Rivadavia museum of natural history, a concert amphitheater, and the Observatory (Rivadavia from Parque photo). If you’re going to one of these attractions or just walking past the park, it’s worth a look-see, and provides a shady break from the heat in summer. If you’re skateboarding or walking your dog, there are sections of the park designated for either activity. There’s an artisan fair from 1000 to 1900 on Saturdays and Sundays. The park has some nice areas of greenery, a fair number of benches and shade trees (Greenery photo), and a small carousel for the youngsters: this last was closed when I was there on a weekday, but might be open in the evenings or on weekends. The park’s central feature is a lake with an impressive row of eight vertical fountains of water (Fountains 1 and Fountains 2 photos). But given the cornucopia of impressive parks in Buenos Aires, this definitely is not one that foreign tourists should go out of their way just to see. My advice: don’t go to this park unless you’ve another reason to be in the area. I’ve reviewed the Rivadavia museum for TA, and would definitely consider that an excellent reason to be in the area, if you’re interested in dinosaurs. I’m giving the park itself 3 stars, but the review average is much higher than mine.

The Parque Centenario is a huge green area for the whole family. Close to many means of transport, with a beautiful church and a large museum around it.

huge place

This is not a touristy spot, but on the weekend for example, you can find things you can't find anywhere else in the city. Old and antique. Also is perfect for a run, dog walking or kinda picnics.

Bustling park with lots of activities and pond
Agt 2018 • Keluarga
A visit to Parque Centenario is a must for visitors who want to get a glimpse of the Buenos Aires leisure culture. Every time I’ve come here I’ve seen families, friends, couples, music groups, tightrope walkers, yogi, clowns, zumba-ers, artists, food vendors... and sometimes all of those all at once. And everyone is drinking mate, the traditional Argentine tea! This bustling park is the place to be ok weekends, awesome for relaxing and people-watching or getting some exercise. It also has several children’s playgrounds, painting activities for kids, zumba classes held by the city, swing dancing and candombe on Sunday afternoons, and a beautiful amphitheater where we have watched a modern dance show, a Swan Lake ballet, and the World Cup!

Overcrowded in the weekends - impossible to walk
Nov 2018 • Sendiri
Forget about visiting this park during the weekends to relax. You see people everywhere you go. There is also an informal market in the perimeter, so for walking or jogging it is better to go elsewhere and return on Monday.

Amphitheater of Parque Centenario is a great place to find some good music
Nov 2017 • Keluarga
This visit was in ocasion of the anual Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, and we have the opportunity to enjoy some of the finest musicians from the latinamerican jazz scene, into a great space really well conditioned for players and the public.
Parque Centenario was built to celebrate Argentina's first 100 years of existence and actually was reconditioned and it's amphitheater was provided with an excellent sound system so, I recommend a visit to this place and to the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences, located very near.

One of the nicer Parks in Buenos Aires
Jul 2017
This park has a pond that caters to the large Japanese Cob fish, as well as to ducks and some turtles. Lots of pigeons and some free parrots, as well.
The park itself is very nice to just relax, stroll around or sit on a bench or the grass to just relax.
The problem is as always in Argentina...some people who just don't respect their environment and litter everywhere.
There is a huge outdoor market encircling half of the park on Sundays.

Do as the locals do.
Okt 2016 • Pasangan
When the weather is good on a Saturday take a walk around Parque Centenario in the Villa Crespo area. This is what the locals do. Not a tourist to be seen. Enjoy the lake full of Koi carp, the street food, the musicians and browse the extensive street market selling all sorts brique-a-braque including music, clothes and all manner of other stuff.

Beaufitul park in the heart of the city
Des 2015 • Keluarga
Parque Centenario is a beautiful park located just some blocks away from the Cid Campeador statue (geographical center of Buenos Aires City). If you want to enjoy the green and spend a relaxed time, go during weekdays and avoid the evenings. If you like crowds, go during the weekend when you have an artisans fair. Old&new books fair works daily but some of the booths are open only on weekends. On Tuesdays and Sundays you also have a fresh produces fair in the morning (from 8am to 2 pm). Inside the park you have the Natural Sciences Museum and also an Astronomy Asociation that offers free observation on certain nights. You can get there in the underground (Line B Angel Gallardo about 4 blocks, Line A Rio de Janeiro or Acoyte about 8 blocks) or a number of bus lines from Palermo, downtown, etc. You can also take the city bikes, you have a station in the park. Around the park there are a couple of cafes and ice cream parlours and if you want to eat something different, try "El Buen Sabor", the only african-food restaurant in Buenos Aires (3 blocks from the park, check the opening times).
