This beautiful hike became the highlight of our holiday in Candidasa.
Somat guided us expertly through a village, up a hill to reach a small warung at the top of the hill where we had coffee and some breakfast with a stunning view over the rice terasses but also of gunung Agung.
Wear covered shoes, a sun hat, sunscreen and comfortable clothing and you are prepared for a lovely encounter with the balinese countryside. We were even offered passionfruit picked straight from the tree, a sweet enjoyment during the hike.
Somat generously shares his knowledge of the area and of everything that grows in the jungle and by the rice fields. The hike is pure bliss for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the town. Just go! You will never regret it!

We had a great time trekking ! Somat was kind and compassionate and extremely knowledgeable about the area . We took in great views ! A must try !!

We went on the hike with somat and I 100% recommend this experience to anyone.He is extremely knowledgeable and gave us facts about the different flora and fauna!We even got to stop by a nice cafe with AMAZING views and handicrafts!When we had difficulties,somat helped us cross them and slowed down to match everyone’s pace.Overall this was an INCREDIBLE experience and I would recommend him to anyone.💗

My husband and I had an amazing day trekking with Somat! He is a very kind man who is extremely knowledgeable of the local area. We started off with a walk through the oldest village in Bali, followed by a beautiful walk through the rice fields, stopping along the way to try some local fruit and take in the stunning views. Somat told us lots of interesting facts about the area and answered all of our questions, and took amazing pictures for us. We are so happy we met him and want to recommend him to everyone, and we can't wait to come back and do another trek with him! Amy and Al xx

We did the rice paddy walk with Somat. Excellent.. picked up at Candidasa hotel.
He was very knowledgeable. He was very friendly and also safety conscious. Visited a village. Very interesting morning. Would recommend.

Highly recommended. We did an easy walk through the rice fields, but more challenging trekking is also possible. Beautiful surroundings with Somat being a great guide!

Somat does a great job of explaining the history of the area, the process of growing rice and knows all the tropical fruits growing wild along the path. The half way stop snacks and drinks were great and the views of the rice terraces incredible. Well worth a few hours if you want something a little different.

Challenging and beautiful trek up the mountains, stopping at the guide’s uncle’s house near the top was very awesome. Highly recommended!

This was such an amazing experience! It was tough but so rewarding and learning from our guide about the area, the flora, the animals, and the people was so awesome. It was a once in a lifetime experience. We highly recommend this adventure. We have been traveling Indonesia for a month and this is definitely in the top 5 for us. THANK YOU!

An absolutely fantastic trip definitely the highlight of our stay in Bali. Somat was so knowledgeable about all the local flora and fauna, the area, the history, anything you asked. I would thoroughly recommend this hike. Make sure you pack a camera.
