I recently visited this place with family when in India for business.
I didn't stay in the club but I did have lunch. The food was excellent in the restaurants and it was nice to see people out and about enjoying them in the heat in a peaceful manner. It was also amazing to see cranes on the golf course .
This is certainly a place I look forward to visiting in the future.
The only downside, I couldn't find with the club was that there was no crazy golf course nearby other than that, all was fine.

This club is a breath of fresh air on large acreage in the middle of Calcutta with some great facilities but that’s where it ends.
It’s tired and worn, looks filthy absolutely everywhere and suffers from great neglect. Life has moved on elsewhere in the world but the Tolly does not seem to recognise this. How the members put up with the grubby surroundings and worn out furnishings I do not know.
This place has the potential of being absolutely tremendous but needs investment and a new management team.

One of the best Clubs in the City of Joy. Great for Riding, Golf, Games, has a warmed-up Swimming Pool and old-world ambience. Well stocked Bars & Excellent Restaurants make for an ideal get away from hurly burly of the busy metropolis. Has acres of greenery, colonial architecture and staff with old world charm. Great place to stay, play, work online and relax.

An oasis of greenery with a super golf course and a variety of restaurants and bars. Managed beautifully by a sharp Brigadier it was great to spend a day there. The staff was effective, the Club was buzzing.

We stayed at the Tolly Club upon recommendation but was shocked at the inadequate facilities and complete lack of accountability on the part of the management. Despite several complaints, the wifi was not fixed as a result of which, we had to pay and use our own. In the midst of jet lag and being in foreign surroundings, we felt completely harassed because of the utter refusal of the staff to deliver basic level of services.
Wifi is an essential in the modern world, not to mention the air-conditioning and the constant hammering that happened due to construction just below our room. We were told that it was one of the best clubs in Calcutta so this is quite unbelievable. Additionally, while the website says "no tips", all the staff expects it. We were happy to tip them but the management really needs to do their job and make sure things run efficiently. One cannot simply live on past glories !

It all sounds great until you get there. Arrangements were made for me to stay here. I arrived late and was given a gruff greeting. The room was like a dorm room and when you are over 60 you do not want to revisit those times. It was sort of clean, but it's hard to clean old places. The thin mattress was on a wooden platform and offered no respite to travel weary bones. Hard chairs gave no comfort. And, the kitchen crew outside the window dismantled a wedding until 2:00 am. I'm sure the other facilities are pleasant, but don't come here for all the niceties a good hotel can offer--and with more graciousness.

If you’re on vacation in the city with young kids (especially in winter), it’s the best place to stay! There’s plenty for the kids and adults to do. Restaurants, room service and housekeeping make it akin to staying at a hotel but it’s better because of all the open space and the great view (golf course) from the rooms

Good club in the heart of busy Kolkata. Nice facilities for conferencing, banquets, wedding receptions etc. Well equipped bar and restaurant.

An oasis of green in the midst of the city. Rated as one of the top 20 country clubs in the world, the Tolly treated us well.
Booked in by a friend, we also had the benefit of reciprocal membership so the room rates were really very reasonable. Rs. 5000 for a junior suite with 600 for an extra bed. Including breakfast and you have access to all the facilities of the club.
Apart from all the bars and restaurants facilities include two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), Ayurvedic Spa, salon, flurry’s counter and a convenience store.
Tennis courts. Equestrian facilities and off course the beautiful golf course all add up to make it a really special place.
The rooms have been renovated so they are well appointed. Service is a little slow but always very helpful.
We are dog lovers so the fact that the property has become home for lots of strays was not a problem for us, but if you are not a canine friend I could see that being grounds for some complaints.
Take the time to go for a morning walk along the fairways (there is a section for walkers) even if you are not a golfer and take a deep breath of his beautiful place where time stands still.

An unique place in Kolkata that is impossible to imagine of. Huge open and green spaces with lots of sports activities. Well maintained rooms and conference halls. The restaurants, especially Shamiana is amazing. A true reminiscent of the colonial era with modern facilities.

We will be there for a wedding event and staying 5 days. can anyone please tell me if they have an iron and hair dyer in the rooms? I think they have a coffee maker, can someone please confirm that too? Really appreciate it.

We have stayed in the Tolly club 5/6 times before and love it. Is it possible to rent an apartment there for a longer stay of perhaps a month?

I’m in Kolkata briefly and would love to go to the Tolly as was there last 25yrs ago. Can I just turn up to use the bar/restaurant even though I have no letter of introduction?
