Hai Ba Trung is a street that runs parallel to the Can Tho River. It is the street on which the Ninh Kiều Park with Ho Chi Minh Stature and Ninh Kiew Wharf is located.

At one end of this road, is the Ninh Kiều Pedestrian bridge which is spectacularly illuminated a night. The 2.7km Can Tho bridge is also visible, illuminated at night. Some major hotels are located at this end of the road, including the TTC Premium Hotel. The dinner cruises also set sails from here. Across the street, are restaurants and eateries. The Ong Temple is also located on this side of the road. There is a night market at the other end after the wharf

Almost every tourist that comes to Can Tho, will visit this area once

This is worth a walk around in the evening if you are after something to do. There's a market so you might be able to pick up a few bits. Just watch the vehicles!

Tuesdsy 8th January and we were staying the night at TTC Hotel Premium which was located on this road, towards the end near the Pedestrian Bridge. Although we were only there for one night we became well acquainted with the road.

This is a major street in Can Tho and it runs parallel to the River and the Ninh Kiều Wharf on one side. There are a number of bars, coffee shops and restaurants along the other side. The Chinese Ong Temple is on the same side of the road.

As previously mentioned at one end the road is the Cau Ninh Kiều (Pedestrian bridge) this is a spectacle at night when it is illuminated with morphing lights.

The Can Tho Night Market is held on 2 streets that are off Hai Bà Trưng. The indoor Market Cho Can Tho is on the riverside of the road.

A most interesting street with lots going on, to see and do. On our way back to our hotel, at the end of the night, we stopped at Cà Phê NGỌC to have a relaxing time with a cold beer and to watch the world go by.

There us even a statue of uncle Ho to keep you company as you explore the lively shoreline- with 4 large LED screens on the other side offering advertising. Just off this street is a moderate size market. On the river side is a more up market venture catering more to the tourist- thought this is not a tourist hot spot- making the experience more fascinating. Those river is full f boats. Great at night when all lit up. A pleasant hour can easily be spent here.

We stayed at the end of the street by the river (Ninh Kieu Riverside) and so every day we walked the park, and also crossed the pedestrian bridge that spans the river. We really enjoyed this area, with all the things to see close by.

I want to highlight one museum just 1 block off the street that's not listed on Trip Advisor. To me, it's a must see. That is the Prison Provinciale, or Kham Lon, on Ngo Gia Tu across from the library. This is the last street before you come to the end of the road. It was one of the most moving museums we visited in VN (moving to me, anyway). The prison was built by the French. It's free to visit and had plenty of signs to tell the story of the prison and some of the prisoners, and included photos as well.

At the end of the street (past the dinner cruises) is the Cai Di Bo (walking bridge, literally) that is lit up at night and is another wonderful spot to visit, especially at night when a breeze along the river can make the night enjoyable. With the music from the dinner cruise boats, the area has a festive atmosphere.

Another nice little place is called Oishi, on Ngo Quyen just a couple storefronts off Hai Ba Trung. not far from the statue of Ho Chi Minh. It's right around the corner from Phuong Nam restaurant. It is just a little shop but we stopped there several times to pick up drinks and popcorn to take back to the hotel (it was cheaper). The family that owned it was very friendly, with 3 kids (twins -boy/girl and an older girl, but none over about 8 or 9). When we were leaving the first night the little boy said, "Goodbye, Mr. Westerner." They were so cute and friendly.

The statue of Ho Chi Minh was in a nice little area, and one time they had a military camp group preparing to go to camp as we passed by. The park along the waterfront was nice to walk, and going up different streets you could get to many museums and shopping. This is a great part of the city and we enjoyed our stay here.
