The Rana Ratan Palace was the winter palace of the former Merwar Royal Family that was built on the orders of Ratan Singh II who reigned from 1527 to 1531. The palace is is mostly ruins, but still retains the rectangular plan, the enclosing high walls and the skeletal remains of the interior rooms. The palace is set far to the north of the Chittorgarh palace complex, but in a beautiful setting right next to an artificial lake.

In comparison to the many other structures inside the fort complex, this palace is little visited. I had insisted that my auto driver take me here in addition to the standard itinerary all drivers in the city use and it was well worth it.

Ratan Singh Palace, part of the Chittorgarh fort complex, is a grand palace , with numerous gates and compounds. It’s magnificent layout and architecture has to be experienced. Although mostly in ruins, it’s arc speaks of its past.

For all the noise about Padmavat and the history behind this, its a pity that the palace of the then king does not offer more. Its current state is broken walls, with no boards of historical details, and no story. It would be good if this place was evolved with a story to tell.

There wasn't all that much to see, but the place is pretty much a scattered landscape of the bygone days. If you love the sense of history and simply exploring, this is definitely worth it.

Palace named after Ratan Singh is located on the bank of a lake or a water body. The palace complex is spread out and presently the structure is in ruins, however, what remains, highlights the architectural beauty of the palace in its glory days. The palace is not a very popular landmark amongst the tourist, probably because, by the time they reach this place, they get tired and skip the place. The palace provides a very good back drop for taking photos. Visitors must visit this place, if they can spare time to visit this place.

Amazing Peace and beauty we had enjoyed at Ratan Singh Palace. A palace with a beautiful view of sunset, ruins help enhance its beauty and the little pond by its side. Spend a good time.

You need a car ride to visit this palace.
A pond and a palace for the ancient commander.
Looks good as the palace and the pond has some size.
But details are not well taken care of.
My guide told me this place is haunted as many people are killed.
Agreed this place has some mysterious atmosphere.
