We had visited this Johar Place located inside Chittorgarh fort during our trip in Udaipur. This is the place where originally a well existed and on the event of a defeat in the hands of the enemies, royal ladies of the fort used to lit a fire in the well and sacrifice their lives to protect their honor. Now a small garden has been created on top of the well.

As the name suggests, this is the place where ladies including queens of Chittaurgarh performed mass self-immolation by burning alive in the pyre. Where this place is? Is it near Kalika Mata temple? I don't think so.
There is a Chittaurgarh Fort Model in the Maharana Pratap Smarak in Udaipur. As per this model, this place lies between Meera Temple and Vijay Stambha on the right side (Photo attached). I didn't notice this place during my recent visit. I will try to find out this place during my next visit.

This is located inside the Chittaurgarh Fort and one comes across this on the way to Kalika mata Temple. This is the place where the Ranas of Mewar dynasty were creameated. We cam to know about this place from our guide as there is no board stating this.

If you are visiting "Maha Sati" without a guide, you will probably think your are just passing through a "double gate" and a small staircase that lead to "Kalika Mata Temple". It would be, indeed, a beautiful gate, with its intricate carvings and statues on both sculpted façades. But, as a matter of fact, you are at the sacred place where the Maharajahs of Udaipur have been cremated for centuries. A reservoir, with waters coming from a believed tributary of Ganges River, is also considered sacred. There is really not much to see. Be respectful and keep going. The next door "Kalika Mata Temple" waits your visit. Beware of the many curious and dangerous monkeys that are seen around "Maha Sati". Enjoy!

A sacred place used to Cremate the rulers of Udaipur.
and Is located in a ahar in chittorgarh.
A main attraction in mahasati is a nature reserve called gangodbhawa kund and mythological stories say a tributary of the ganges flows underground and emerges here as ahar rivei that originated this kund.
