There are remains of the fort because it was attacked and destroyed but the story behind this is really something you should listen so do hire a guide and get to know the details .

One of the most important places in history of India.
Chittorgarh fort is spread over a vast land.Better to have your own vehicle.A good guide is a must.Our guide was an average one,probably not the official one.Our driver had arranged for him,and probably got his commision too.
I found the vijaystambh absolutely mindblowing.Standing near this,as well as site of jauhar by queen padmini and other ladies,we got mixed feelings of outrage,sadness and proud.Outrage at what the invaders did to our motherland,and pride at the bravery and artistic temperament of the great rajput kings.
Kirtistambh and adinath jain temple are other beautiful structures.
Unfortunately there was garbage thrown everywhere and monkeys and stray dogs were a big nuisance.
There are still people living inside the fort.There are lots of shops,too and the driver and the guide will invariably insist on taking you inside but do your own research for shopping as there is a lot of price difference at hathipole in udaipur and these shops.

We went here from Udaipur and the journey was about 2.5 hours - 120 kms. Guide charges were 200/- One can take horse ride, camel ride and photos in traditional costume. RTDC cafeteria provides clean toilet at a nominal charge of 10/- per person. We had good lunch at hotel Gangaur. The guide will take you to a cultural shop but avoid buying as Hathi Pol has much better variety and pricing.

Best fort ever seen .Must watch bucket list of Rajasthan. Would suggest to visit near by places . We met a certified tour guide with Trilok Salvi -+91 9549012053….would has excellent knowledge.

The fort itself is imposing and spread over a very large area. Make sure you hire a good guide to show and explain the nuances of this place. We were disappointed with the upkeep and cleanliness of this place

One of the largest fort in India, with multiple monuments to see, one needs to have his own vehicle as it is around 13kms in distance to travel, monuments are spread across different locations within the fort. Guide help in understanding the place however they try to do short cut. It is a living fort as people still reside with in the for area.
If one is in the region one should visit.
Try visiting in the early opening hours as then crowd is less and parking at monuments is easy. Budget for 3 hours in total

This is very good historic place to visit. I have good time with my family to visit this historic place. If any one visit Chittaurgarh should visit this fort which have lot of historic places.

This is a historical place or we can say, it's a city which has many historical places like vijay stambh, kirti stambh, kumbha palace, etc all are inside the fort. First of all, this place should b visited in rainy or winter season as everyone has to walk much and that to in open, so in summer, it will b little bit difficult but in evening hours, it may b ok.
You will need a guide coz with out guide it will b like wandering in a forest. Local guides are available at very cheaper rates, I paid 300/-. Fort is open in all days from 9 am to 5 pm and after 5 pm they close entry but u can watch light show. Ticket is 40 per adult and 35 for car. Go with ur vehicle as it's area is 13 km as told and it will take minimum 3 hours with vehicle to cover only important/ selected places. Food will b available inside fort also at state tourism restaurant and local vendors are also available inside Fort. There are handicrafts shops also inside the fort where u can get sarees made up of different fibers like tulsi, sitafal, bamboo with the scent of sandal (Chandan) .
So everyone must visit once if u love historical places.

It is well worthwhile spending a few hours touring this huge fort with a guide. There is a lot to see and learn and one needs a vehicle to drive from one point to the next. I had visited the fort 10 years ago and made a shorter visit this time since it was enroute our long road trip across Rajasthan.

Yes..aloowed..the ascend is bit tough..but once you reach top..vieew will mesmerize you..just show the fort tickets at entry gate of Vijay stambha and enjoy the steps..
