Really long beach
Okt 2020
Really long beach. This is a sandy beach, unlike the rest of beaches I visited in Turkey. Is very long (12km) so you can enjoy a really long walk.

Bit windy but absolutely breathtaking
Okt 2020 • Teman
This beach is around 20 minutes away from Kalkan, its a paradise beach with soft sand and sand dunes and the turquoise blue sea is just beautiful! It costs 20TL to access the beach and has free parking. A must visit. You also get to see a bit of the ancient city on route.

Ok for a walk
Sep 2020
It might be unusual in that it is a long stretch of sandy coastline. Nothing exceptional to be frank, quite dark sand, sea not colourful the sunny day we were there but a nice quiet beach when you get away from the sunbeds. A beach shack 100 meters from the car park with sunbeds and umbrellas to rent. this, the only 'restaurant' looks very basic and the sunbeds were the plastic, no padded lounger on it. Perhaps because of Coronavirus though? Further along people just laying towels or bringing their own chairs. After a few hundred metres just clear beach to walk. And the best part, as yet, not filled with even more huge high-rise all inclusive hotels.

Hot day at patara
Sep 2020
Visited on a hot day in September. Cost 40tl for 10 visits over 10 days.plus costs for beds and umbrella. No mattresses in these days of covid. Plenty of social distancing no one near us.Too hot for the ruin.We hadn't been for about 5 years so village built up with hotels and touristy shops Definitely need to stop smoking on the beach. But we enjoyed our day out.

A natural wonder turning into an ashtray
Sep 2020
What a beautiful place but sadly it is being ruined by litter. The site is supposed to be a "protected area" and a haven for nesting sea turtles BUT it is fast turning into an ashtray.

The government and local authority must take action to educate people and clean the beach.

There are thousands and thousands of cigarette butts in the sand, which are poisonous to wildlife and pollute the sea. Plus all the other plastics and now face masks that visitors leave behind instead of placing in a rubbish bin.

It is a similar problem on nearly all of Turkey's public beaches. But people have to pay to come here and clearly none of the money is used to preserve and conserve it. They need to make more signs, ask people not to smoke or leave their cigarettes in the sand, and employ people to clean the beach every day.

We visit the beach on patara every time we come but this year thought it was a little grubby.. Please had left their rubbish and it hadn't been cleaned up 😢

Latrine of the world
Sep 2020
The beach is nice and clean and there seems to be a lot of space for everyone – but, unfortunately, the appearance deceives …
A whole army of naked men, hiding behind the dunes, climb to the surface every time a woman shows up, whether older or young, in a bikini or fully clothed. They keep moving with you wherever you go, gaze at you and masturbate. They don’t even care about your husband, try to sit down next to you and touch you. There is no escape from them, they are simply too many. One of them even brought a prostitute once and hinted that we should take a look how she would satisfy him orally. We walked up and down the beach in order to find a place where they would leave us alone, but no chance. After few days we gave up and returned home, although we paid for accommodation for a whole month. We are disgusted, we have never experienced anything like this. We have lived in Turkey for almost 10 years and have been on dozens of its beaches, as well as in Greece, Italy, France, Tunisia, Egypt and SE Asia, where we have (in Thailand) our second home. Nothing like this has ever happened to us and we have never heard of anything like it. This beach is not paradise - it is the latrine of the world.

Amazing place , soft sand, warm safe sea, beautiful at sunset
Agt 2020 • Keluarga
We visited Patara twice during our week stay at Kalkan, I had read that we should fo at sunset and was not disappointed!
We are not beach people and the beaches in Kalkan are mostly pebbly. We absolutely loved the soft sand although it can get quite warm so take flip flops.
Entrance fee to the beach only was 40TL and you get a card that gives you 10 multiple entries-so our family of 5 could use the card twice.

We didn't realise we had to pay for sun loungers and parasol and got away with it on the first trip (oops!) but paid on the 2nd- 10L for each sun lounger and umbrella.

The water is warm and not choppy, also it stays shallow for quite a way in without dropping suddenly. As a non swimmer it is the first time ever I have felt comfortable walking into the sea upto chest level without fear (well not too much lol)

Be sure to take plenty of photos of the sunset, it was quite eerie but beautiful. You can also view it for free from the dunes which you can access free from patara village.

There is a little cafe on the beach with changing rooms, showers and toilets.

A must do if you are in the area, we didn't bother with any other beaches after this little gem of a find!

Good value at 4 lira to enter.
Beach very organised with undercover area serving decent cheap food.
Nice shower if you can avoid burning your feet getting there.
Beach is cordoned off to help Loggerhead Turtles breed which is a good thing.
Sea rough e we hen we were there but sand not stones made access easier than Kalkan beach 🏖.
