We walked a long way out of the central area to see Buddhist Maha Vihara but there was not a lot to see here and so sadly would not recommend making the trip. It is approx 20 minutes walk from central Little India Brickfields.

There were a few Buddha statues to see and lots of interesting artifacts inside the main temple area. If you come here to worship or meditate I am sure it is a lovely site, but as a simple tourist there is not a lot here to entertain.

Admission to the temple is free, but donations are welcome. Must remove shoes to enter. Allow 10-15 minutes to have a look around.

This Sri Lankan buddhist temple has recently been renovated and the place looks great with everything freshly painted and cleaned up. I was there when it was quiet and had the main prayer hall all to myself and found it very peaceful to meditate for 15 minutes. Inside the temple complex is also an international peace pagoda with many statues of varying sizes of the Buddha.

Well worth the walk from Brickfields.

At walking distance from KL Sentral in the Brickfields neighborhood of Kuala Lumpur this temple is a center of the Sinhalese Buddhist community. The main shrine is being renovated and not accessible, but a more modern structure called the International Buddhist Pagoda is. Missionary activities are also undertaken from the complex. People I met on the premises were friendly and welcoming.

Free admission. Donations welcome.

We arrived a little before 8.30 prayers on a Sunday. There was a table of Malaysian people selling food for a donation - they had great English and were super friendly. We sold us a bowl of Cincau (like soy milk/water soup) and a semi-sweet jelly thing for RM3 and RM1 (approx NZD1 and NZD0.30).
A lot of people were already at prayer in the main temple, there were seperate statues which people holding incense were walking around as well as a dedication centre (?) which heaps of statues and images in it.
Make sure you take your shoes off before stepping onto the temple or worship site - you'll see signs in English and other people's shoes so you'll know where to leave yours.
Once the chanting/offering started (at 8.30) it was beautiful, they rang a bell and took some incense, flowers and fruit up to the main Buddha and a monk in orange robes began to chant long and deep.

About 300m walk from KL Sentral. There are educational institution (school and kindergarten) in surrounding. The place more to be liked residential area.
A must to visit for Buddhist. Very peaceful and quiet temple. It gives you a sense of peace and blessings. Remember to pray the Buddha when visiting. The temple is under expansion during my visit.
If not mistaken, it's very happening during "wesak day" with vege food served to the people.

Buddhist Maha Vihara is in Brickfields and worth a look if you're in the area. The grounds are quite large and contain a number of buildings including a good viharn which houses the main Buddha as well as a reclining Buddha. There is also a small pagoda and Bodhi tree with fine Buddha figures underneath.

It's a quiet and not a very touristy temple situated in Little India neighbourhood. It's quite particular, I thought, has a very subdued atmosphere, and very interesting statues.
Some halls are more colourful, some are more subtle. There is a meditation corner as well, and a little garden around the Temple.
I think it's definitely worth a visit, even if a short one.
(You can walk there from KL Sentral, that's the closest station)
