Amazing cultural performance

This show is a superb introduction to the minority groups of Yunnan province. All of the performances are superb but the the passion and rhythm in the Hani minority tiger drumming is something I'll never forget.

An outstanding production - modern in conception while rooted in local ethnic traditions. The choreography, staging, performances, music / drumming were all exceptional. Highly recommended.

Peacock Dance

The beginning part were tribal dances and drumming. Not particularly exquisite. But the peacock dance is something else. This peacock dance alone is worth the show.

Truly stupendous stunning show. Must see in Kunming

This was an optional activity on our first day of tour in China. The whole show is superb, beautifully choreographed and well executed. All actors are amateurs drawn from the nearby villages and the youngest is five years old. The whole show is a superb exposition of the rich cultural heritage and diversity of Yunan Province.

The whole show is a combination of traditional and folk art representing the various ethnic communities in the. province. It tells the story of their beliefs, view of the world and living; divinity, earth, sky, moon. There are fabulous dances with amazing costumes.
The show starts with the drums; The Dawn of Life, followed by act one, representing the Sun, again drums by different communities.
Act two is earth represented by dance by different communities.
Act three is representation of homeland by Yi minority group.
Act four is pilgrimage mainly Tibetan.
Final is the Spirit of Peacock dance.

The show lasts 90 minutes. You wouldn't realise the passing of the time. You are allowed to take pictures without flash but no video recording allowed. But you will be too mesmerised to remember to take photos.

I went to this show with my daughter 9yo. All 90 minutes passed in a moment. Dynamic and interesting manner of getting in touch with local culture.

What an amazing show. The actors dancers and singers were brilliant. The choreography and costumes amazing. Loved the show it was riveting and high energy. You don't even had to understand the language to enjoy the show.

Love that peacock dance

This was my second visit. The show was similar to what I saw some years ago but I still enjoyed it a lot. At the end of the show, there was a peacock dance. The dance was stunning and impressively elegant. I was told that the original dancer had retired and this was performed by a younger lady. Not bad at all. She was nearly as good as the previous one.

Impressive performance

Dynamic Yunnan, is a grand and unique dance musical that richly depicts the strong flavor of the life of ethnic minorities in Yunnan province, China. We were amazed by the vibrant colors, vivid costumes, classical folk dances and ancient tunes. The highlight of the whole performance, the most breathtaking one was the solo beautiful peacock dance. This dance drew our full attention. We had an unforgettable night.

Colourful and entertaining

Staged in a medium sized concert hall, this show highlights the cultural diversity of the ethnic minorities in the region. They might have taken some licence with the costume designs, dances and music since everything was extremely colourful, vibrant and quite modern. The initial few numbers feature lots of native drums but the highlight has to be the two dances featuring the solo female artist showcasing her amazing finger dexterity and limber moves. If you have an evening and an hour plus to spare, this well staged performance will not disappoint.
