The park was very neat but lack intensity of floral display. The buggy offered for seniors were few in numbers. I saw only one which was insufficient. The labelling of plants and tress were all in Japanese and to the foreign visitor who like to know will be disappointed. The tropical greenhouse lack display and was very small.

It took 1 hour by train from Kagoshima, than a half hour bus ride to get there. The park is moderately priced and well maintained. The flowers are colorful and fragrant.

I visited on rainy day. There were very few people inside when I visited. It was nice and it would be nicer with a good weather.
After passing the ticket office, the entrance is full of scent of flowers. There are many plants in a wide area.
I was impressed with the scale of greenhouses. They were really big.
Northwestern trail can make people bored. Large area. Few varieties. The view from the high area was just okay during a rainy day.
It's great to spend 2~3 hours. If walking is exhausting, there's a tour with a cart.

Came in a sunny autumn day. The park is lovely, we spent two-three hours walking around and could easily double that.
The views are spectacular with many attractions, such as a butterfly pavilion, glasshouse, light instalments and so much more.
A great place if you're after a tranquil day out.

We were here before the spring so not much outdoor flowers growing, but there were still many in green house that we can see and many plants to appreciate. This is a must visit for people like us treasuring plants and flowers. Entering the park require tickets which is not expensive. There is a shop that sells seeds, flowers and small plants which is accessibe without ticket.

I can say amazing to describe this flower park. The park is huge & you can see different flowers & trees. You need to spend around 3 to 4 hours to complete the park. The flowers is beautiful and do have indoor & outdoor exhibitions.

This, combined with an attractive coastal train and bus journey from Kagoshima City, plus a walk to the nearby Lighthouse, was a great day out.
The gardens are a sizeable 36.5 Ha, boasting over 400 types of trees & plants, with some 400k in total: the "ramble" route guide time of one to two hours is realistic. Its not, to me, a traditional Japanese Garden, but it has formality & informality, hills, open areas & woodlands, & great views of the rocky coast & of Kagoshima's "Mount Fuji" - Kaimondate - albeit it was hazy the day I visited. The gardens are designed for all ages, with plenty of room for rambling & picnicking, plus areas for children including an attractive, albeit small Butterfly glasshouse. I visited on a crowded Saturday during Golden Week, but away from the area near the entrance the body density dropped dramatically.
My ramble, accompanied by buzzing crickets, included many pauses for the view, photos & a packed lunch, with sweet Lemon tea via machine. This was in the western style building of the "English" Garden, comprising formally laid out hedges, but no flowers. It was English I guess, and a peaceful spot, but I hope it doesn't give the impression that all our gardens are like this! The covered/greenhouse area was a marvellous array of flowers & there were Lupins blooming in the "Seasonal Flower Fields", a large open area with (well occupied) benches for picnicking - another lovely spot. It mattered little that there was little English signage other than the map.
About 25-minutes easy walk away is the Nagasakibana Lighthouse - so you can say you've stood almost at the southernmost point of mainland Japan! There's great views,.
The bus (to the Lighthouse too) goes from both Ibusuki and Yamakawa (spelled Yamagawa on some maps/signs): for train buffs, the latter is Japan's most southerly manned station. I got English marked up on the Japanese (only) bus timetable eg at the (very helpful) Kagoshima Chuo Station tourist office. By chance, on my return journey I caught the "Ibusuki no Tamatebako" sightseeing train - a great way to finish what was already a good day!

The whole park is well maintained with different sections. At the time I went there, there were not many visitors. There were different kinds of flowers and plants everywhere. Good to go.

This flower garden located near the Ibusuki onsen area, about 15 mins drive time from my hotel. The flower garden covered a huge area. It divided into different zone based on the the sorts of flowers. The indoor and European flower zone are the most attractive zones which you must not miss. The interior design looks very stylish. The staff there are also working very serious to maintain the every inch of the garden. The day we visit, we saw there dried up the pool and clean the bank inch by inch, a traditional respectful Japanese working attitude.

You need at least 2 hours to enjoy this park. in addition to the extensive grounds it offers a spectacular views across the sea from the top platform. Plenty of photo opportunities. Large conservatory. The grounds are well looked after.
